Quaint village with nice local shops. We loved the sports shops, pharmacy with a soda fountain and the local souvenir shop. The buildings are very quaint and it is easy to walk around.

Freshfields Village is located between Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island. This shopping village offers dining, grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, specialty shops and even a Starbucks! We recently visited during the Blues By the Sea festival. During the summer and holiday weeks Freshfields hosts special concerts, seasonal farmers market, movie nights and special events. The village is designed for pedestrian traffic. You... More

I live in Charleston and I make a day trip out to Freshfields Village every once in awhile. It is a beautiful 30 minute drive from downtown... not too far but just far enough to feel like you are getting away from the city. Some stores that you cannot miss are J.McLaughlin, Kiawah Fine Jewelry, GDC, The Resort Shop, and... More

There is so much to experience for anyone looking for almost anything. The small town atmosphere streets and Carolina architecture inspired store fronts were wonderful to explore. There are many restaurants to choose from including a coffee shop, an ice cream parlor, fine dining, and sports bar. Shopping does include many high end priced boutiques and art galleries. Also available... More

Stop here for all your needs while in the Kiawah Island area....grocery shopping (prices not inflated), dining, shopping and all beach supplies.

One trip through was enough for us. Kiawah and Seabrook people have lots of resources and it's written all over their faces. Look right through you. Limited parking but the shops are neat and interesting offering friendly service. Good place to visit and the Harris Teader is convenient even though we liked the Piggly Wiggly better (Newton Farms they call... More

The Harris Teeter replaced a truly special "destination" grocery store. They now have institutional deli foods (most are not prepared in store) and the wonderful bakery items are sadly not special. The meats are also at a lower grade and The cheese department is pitiful. What were they thinking. They had shoppers on the islands of Seabrook and Kiawah who... More

Freshfields is a pleasant place to stroll and shop. There are some great specialty stores and restaurants. I will miss Newton Farms Grocery store though, from what I am hearing the new store is not very good at all. If you want a truly special memento, have your family's picture taken on the beach by Photogenics. They do a spectacular... More

If you are staying on Kiaway, you won't miss this place. It is a small village of many shops and restaurants and a large Market (Harris Teeter) which has everything one would want for your vacation.

This shopping area is needed if you are staying on Kiawah or Seabrook, but everything tends to be "pricey" due to its proximity to Kiawah Island. Your only other alternative is to drive 15 miles; so be thankful Freshfields is there.
