Beautiful local beach, great weather, great views. The pier is gorgeous and the sand feels nice between my toes.

A little too commercial for us. Nice park area surrounded by shops and nick nack stores. Not our cup of tea.

Don't get me wrong, the beach was nice, as beaches go but the parking ticket cops are all over the place, and the parking is poorly marked. Go to Folly beach and keep the tax revenue away from this crooked little hole of a town!

My trip to Charleston was only 4 days and this beach was a must do! I've travelled to many beaches in California and Florida, but Isle of Palms is my favorite so far! It was clean, parking was close and easy, and the water was warm enough for swimming even in October. It was a lovely day!

nice beach for the family. Clean and well kept facilities. . Changing areas and showers located on property. Big parking lot. Walking distance to pier and beach storefronts. Very pleasant beach to relax and have a fun day.

We love the beach here. It is easy to park if you get there early. We love grabbing a coffee at our hotel and walking the beach and collecting shells before it gets to crowded. I wish we lived closer so we could enjoy it regularly. The amenities include snacks, showers and beach gear rentals.

We visited both Folly Beach and Isle of Palms during our recent Charleston trip. If you have to visit only one, I would choose Isle of Palms, especially if you have children. What gives Isle of Palms the edge up is that it is well maintained with changing cabanas, amble showers, a large bathroom facility, and a clearly designated chair... More

During our brief stay in the Charleston area my girlfriend and I went to two beaches - Folly Beach and Isle of Palms County Park. This one was definitely our favorite. The sand was much finer, it was altogether less crowded, easier to find parking, and all around a much better beach going experience. I will say some of the... More

This beach warrants five stars, but it is often so overcrowded that four will have to suffice. In summer and on holidays arrive early to get a parking place and leave early to avoid the traffic gridlock beginning around 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. The beach itself is very nice with showers, dressing rooms, and bathrooms nearby.

We drove over from our hotel in Charleston, about a half hour drive. We arrived as the gates to the park were being opened, paid $7 and drove into the lot and parked. Simply stated, it was a short walk to the beach. There were restrooms, picnic tables and showers between the lot and beach. It seemed that on this... More
