The best beach that we visited. Parking was easy and close for us with a short walk to the beach, restrooms, showers and shops. This was during the day in the middle of the week so I don't know how it is during peak times.

Having grown up going to Hunting Island near Beaufort and seeing the deterioration and neglect of that beach over the years, the beach at Isle of Palms County Park is a breath of fresh air. The beach itself is kept clean and relatively free of debris such as fallen tree limbs. It seems busier, which is perhaps a testament to... More

We went to the IOP beach while vacationing in Charleston and came to love this beach! I love the fact that the water wasn't deep at all even when you go further. The beach is clean and the area is beautiful and well-kept. There is plenty of parking but you do have to pay. We parked at one of the... More

Paid $7 to park here and walk down to the beach. There are swings and other items for kids to play on. There are bathrooms up a long and winding ramp, some tables on the deck, changing booths and outside showers.

Love that you could go out really far and not be in water very deep. Was great for my kids (6&9). Turtle nests were marked for safety. Great place, lots of access from the vacation rentals, and public parking wasn't too bad. Get's cheaper at the meters the later in the day you go.

Nice beach. Life guards present while we were here. Parking was $7 for our car. Bath houses present to change in, and bathrooms present.

They do an excellent job keeping this park clean. Lifeguards do a great job! Beach is kept clean and bathrooms. Love that there is now a food truck there. We had a great lunch without having to leave the beach. Awesome!

Parking is free for the handicapped. Sand was very hot. Not very crowded, but we went on a Monday afternoon. Clean bathrooms, showers and changing rooms. Wheelchair accessibility was a small problem. The beach wheelchair is offered for free but my husband could not get up on it. We pushed his chair to the first part of the beach. The... More

We visited on a Sunday in the high tourist season, so crowds are to be expected. It was not so crowded that people were right on top of each other, though. The beach is clean and there are outdoor showers to get the sand off. Parking is $10 on the weekend, but $10 is much less than we would pay... More
