My family and I loved this beach! A little crowded but that was to be expected...this place is so beautiful! Definitely a tourist destination...nice beach, reasonable entrance fee & convenient parking. The restrooms, showers and concessions are nice amenities to have available. There are lifeguards on duty and a nice play area for the little ones as well. This beach... More

parking close to the beach and fee to park was reasonable, a little high but not ridiculous. easy to get in and out at the county park and close walk to the beach. Very impressed with accommodations close to the Isle of Palms.

Best area of the beach with a lifeguard on duty. There are bathrooms, changing areas, and outdoor showers for getting the sand off before getting in your car. Refreshments available.

Beach place to be on the sand in Isle of Palms! Clean, chair/umbrella rentals, changing rooms, and bathrooms. Always go here when in IOP!

Great accommodations but get here early for a good spot on the beach. It gets very crowded and people don't have any fear of getting really close to where you are set up. Nothing like the beaches of Florida like New Smyrna.

The best part of IOP, is the parking. There is lots of meter parking at $1.00 per hour, and all day parking at several parking lots ranging from $5 to $10. Facilities are relatively clean, and there are outdoor showers to remove the sand after a day at the beach. The beach itself is nice, but was extremely overcrowded.

The first day we were there, it was fine. It's a decent beach, but super-crowded. From Wednesday to Friday, we saw all kinds of trash, everything from pads to Coke cans washing up. There were mostly seemingly good people there, but DISGUSTING public restrooms and showers that no one waits in line for. I don't know where the "nice facilities"... More

Isle of Palms and IOP Beach is a really nice place to visit. My husband and I always set aside time to spend here when we visit Charleston. The first afternoon we just spent time on the beach reading, people watching, and enjoying the sounds of the waves. On July 4th we came to Isle of Palms for an early... More

My husband and two teenage children stayed in Mt. Pleasant, SC for a few days in early July 2014. We arrived in town Wednesday afternoon and decided to swing by and check out the beach. We did not park in the actual county park lot but a lot just around the corner. The sign said $6 parking but there was... More

Parking near the beach is generally scarce in any city, but this county park provides quite a bit. There are lifeguards in season, small huts to allow beach-goers to change clothing, rest rooms, snacks and umbrella rentals, and outdoor showers to allow you to clean off before heading back to your car. There's an area for picnics and volleyball, as... More
