Played the course in early Nov 09. Read tons about the courses in Hilton Head and tried to make my mind up on which to play, Oyster Reef sounded great so I gave it a try. Expected so much more reading all the reviews, it was in pretty good shape, but over priced and except for the 6th hole it... more

I played this course mid September 09 and the course was superb. Excellent facilites and very inexpensive. The day I played the course was almost deserted. It is in great shape and there are some good holes. My handicap is 3 and it offered a challenge to me, but it was the condition which was the biggest point of note.... more

Outstanding golf course although it whipped my tail hitting from the tips at over 7,000 yards. The greens were in well above average shape. Looked much worse than they played. They rolled true and held well with the right shots. The fairways were cut a little thin for my taste but all were in above average shape, An outstanding tournament... more

Course in excellent condition - including greens. Straight forward course, not much in the way of blind shots. relatively short from the tips. Played early and pace of play excellent. Always worth playing this course. Have played it every year for the past 5 summers, always in good condition. Not as challenging as either of the Palmetto Hall courses or... more

We played Oyster Reef on July 9. The course was straightforward and very playable from all sets of tees, although my playing partner is more of a beginner and had major problems going from trap to trap all afternoon. There is a definited lack of ocean/marsh views, as only the sixth hole has any view at all. The driving range... more

Played 6-17-08. Course was in good shape except a few greens that had been recently repaired. Alot of sand traps but good sand and easy to hit out of. If you can get off the tee well, play the back tees otherwise too much trouble comes into play on the doglegs. We played up for the other members of our... more

Played the course on 4/20/08. The course was in great shape. Our foursome teed off quickly and the pace of play was pretty good. The greens were in excellent condition. Sand bunkers are in play for almost every hole. I would recommend using a GPS rangefinder if you are playing the course for the first time. The par 3 sixth... more

We had a great day and a fun round. There was nothing at all wrong with this course and maybe my expectations were too high. I was in Hilton Head for the first time and the Pro made the comment that he thought this was one of the top four public courses on The Island. It may be that, but... more

Last course that the wife and I played on our recent trip to the island...not the first off but we were 50 minutes behind the previous group so we left with the expectation that we wouldn't see another group for the rest of the day. Pace of play was under 4 hours. Rangers were out and about but we didn't... more
