This state park is a mere 15 minute drive from the downtown area. It's scenic views and hiking trails are a pleasant distraction from the weekly grind. You feel like you have left the city, yet you are close enough to go for lunch after a morning hike.

Nice easy trail around the lake-there are many other trails as well. Fantastic falls at end of lake over a dam and spillway. The autumn colors were spectacular and created a wonderful reflection on the lake. The visitor's center/gift shop is a must see just for the construction of the building. A cute addition is the bird house constructed in... More

Whenever I visit family in Greenville area, I look forward to trail runs at Paris Mountain State Park! It is my favorite place to trail run although there are lots of roots, etc to trip you up and last week with the fallen leaves I did take a bad fall. So be extra careful in the fall when leaves are... More

I try to pick up my 6 1/2 year old grand daughter once a week and am running out of things to do to surprise her. Boy- I got this one right! Of course she was bored at the thought of another park but we got there at fall leave's peak. The minute we parked she was so in awe... More

There is nothing exciting to see here. The only reason to visit this park is because it is close to Greenville.

The "swimming hole" in the middle of the park took me back to my Boy Scout Summer Camp days, and my wife back to her time on the lake with the family. What a treasure, buried within the City Limits, but the City out of sight and mind. Go. You'll be glad you did.

More trails have been added - but these are mostly for bikers and the lovely hiking trail was closed. You can go on the bike trail but the Sulphur Springs hike used to get your heart rate up. Otherwise, it's a great place and close to downtown.

My husband and I spent the morning at Paris Mountain State Park. I have lived most of my life close to this park and have visited many times. We needed a restful day getting back to nature and it was exactly what we were looking for. The trails are well kept and weren't crowded at all on thus Friday. It... More
