This was a highlight of a recent beach trip to South Carolina. The town is charming overall, but this visit is exceptional. Guided tours are given at certain times during the day so make sure to plan ahead. The visit takes time, so don't be in a hurry. Plan to see both houses - they're side by side. There are... More

the docent is quite learned and an expert on this house as well as the town with stories of the house and the experience during the civil war. You must visit for a detailed experience of your own.

I will come back to tour the house and bring family and friends as well. My third favorite part of our trip to Georgetown.

Great house left just as it was when the owner died. Bridge table setup, sweater on back of chair. A great glimpse into how people lived.

We must have been on a quiet day as there was only the two of us on the tour and Sean our guide was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to we spent the first twenty minutes on the front porch talking. It was an interesting house with some quirky features and the $10 ticket included the house next door.... More

Listening to a choral concert and a great band named Project 9 on the 4th of July was truly epic here. This house is older than this country. Go check it out!

The house itself was beautiful, especially the grounds around it. Right on the water, with a path down to the bank and overhanging live oaks, a huge porch in the big white house. Inside there are interesting rooms furnished with the original furniture. The last family to own the house were world travelers so there are some knickknacks from their... More

My husband and I spent a wonderful afternoon (or part of) at this museum. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting. You get to tour 2 houses. The first is the oldest and has lots more interesting details. The grounds overlook the water. It was very relaxing. Well worth your time if you enjoy history of old houses and decorative... More

Our guide was very good, and patient with our many questions. It's a beautiful setting, and the house is filled with beautiful things.

We visited the home during our first week in Georgetown. We were able to learn a great deal about the background of the home, the families and the history of the area. The tour guide was new but well briefed. We were able to ask questions and have them answered thoroughly. There is also an excellent gift store on the... More
