This house museum overlooks the river and was donated to the city of Georgetown with its furnishings by the Kaminski family. The site consists of 2 houses, a gift shop and a nice little building with clean restrooms. Our tour guide, Frankie Hills, was very knowledgeable and had a true enthusiasm for the house and its lovely furniture, antiques collected... More

The Kaminski House and the Stewart-Parker House are both included in the museum tour and sit on the Sampit River. We decided not to do the tour of the Kaminski house since pictures could not be taken. Their reason was that there are a lot of valuable antiques inside. This really didn't make sense to me so we decided just... More

Visited the Kaminski House during a day in Georgetown. My husband knows how much I enjoy history so we took the tour. Our guide, Sue, was so nice and accomodating. We were the only ones on the tour so she gave us extra special attention, even seeing some items not privy to others when leading a larger crowd. She made... More

We came across this house tour during a day trip to Georgetown. With only one other couple we toured the house and the one next door. The guide was very informative and also answered all our questions. The house dates back to 1700's but was gifted as a museum from Mrs Kaminski when she died, in 1972. The furnishing have... More

This is the second time I have toured the Kaminski house. Each time, it is just as fascinating as the time before. I love hearing the stories about the families and the way they lived then and I love seeing the beautiful rooms of furniture from a bygone era. The craftsmanship is amazing! This tour is well worth your time... More

This is a lovely old home in downtown Georgetown, S.C. In a town filled with beautiful historic homes, this fully furnished home is a stand out. The docents gave us a nice little tour with local historical background. Visiting it during the Christmas season is a real treat. Nice little gift shop as a part of the property overlooking the... Very informative tour, our tour guide was a very pleasant young man who knew the history of the house and town. Beautiful home and bygone era. One room had a man named Ed who was restoring one of many model ships, he was happy to answer any questions we put to him. We plan to return for the entire tour... More

We enjoyed our tour of the Kaminski House. Out guide was full of stories and history. There was just 4 of us touring so we felt we were receiving a personal tour. I would definitely recommend the tour if you want the full history of Georgetown.

This was a highlight of a recent beach trip to South Carolina. The town is charming overall, but this visit is exceptional. Guided tours are given at certain times during the day so make sure to plan ahead. The visit takes time, so don't be in a hurry. Plan to see both houses - they're side by side. There are... More

the docent is quite learned and an expert on this house as well as the town with stories of the house and the experience during the civil war. You must visit for a detailed experience of your own.
