Seeing the beautiful grounds overlooking the scenic waterfront of Georgetown is enough of a reason to visit the Kaminski House, but the highlight is the tour of the Kaminski House as well as the Stewart-Parker House led by knowledgeable docents that will explain the history of the houses as well as bring period history of the area to life. Beautiful historical home in downtown Georgetown. It is on the river adjacent to the Harborwalk. The tour is informative; the house is beautiful. You can also tour the Stewart Parker House, next to Kaminski House. The gift shop is well worth your time.

My sister and I were the only people on this tour, so we got to ask many questions. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind . . . true southern hospitality. Our tour also included the Stewart-Parker House, located next door, which was just as awesome! We were told that George Washington delivered a speech on the front porch... More

The last owner had updated the house, and when she died in the 1970s, she requested that nothing be removed from the house. So: updated kitchen (but 1960s updates -- cool!); updated baths (again, 1950s updates); family areas include old TVs and so forth. Lovely and fun.

This was a nice place to see, but we could have skipped it. It is a beautiful old house, but the tour was too long (1 1/2 hrs). Too much information, unless you are a real history buff. We learned where every piece of furniture was from, what it was made of, & history of how it ended up in... More

So sorry you were disappointed with your tour. Most tours are only an hour long and the content varies depending upon the docent. Next time you are in town, please give us another chance. More

No only does this tour have a pre-Civil War tale, but it also gives you an onsite to what it took to bring this beautiful home into modern times with TVs, radios and refrigerators.

We just walked around the grounds and admired the setting and architecture of this grand old place. We did not have time for the tour, but would like to visit again when we have more time.

Make sure it isn't closed for a private event when you plan on going; we were upset to find out that we couldn't tour due to a wedding rehearsal.

We visited Hopsewee plantation at 10 am in the morning the Kaminski house at the 1pm tour. It is about a 20 minutes drive between both of them. We though the Kaminski tour was much better. We bought sandwiches at the local bakery "Kudzu bakery" and had a picnic by the boardwalk beside the Kaminski house. The tour was very... More
