Captain Rods Shelling tour was fantastic, Captain Rod is very knowledgeable about the area, it was like being in a history class on a boat. My kids who are 5,8, and 11 really enjoyed it. The beach was gorgeous, you will have about an hour to explore. Overall a great value for families.

Staff very friendly and helpfuk from Ms. Fran down to Luke the captains son. Saw lots of wildlife and was a super enjoyable day! Will only go here anytime we are down on vacation. Georgetown is rich with history as well and they are very helpful in relaying any information you ask about :) Dont change a thing!

I went with my family on the combination lighthouse/plantation/ shell island tour this week. It was a fun day. Captain Doug gave great history background stories. I was only bothered by one thing, there were no life jackets in sight. When I asked about them I was told by Luke that there were some available but I still feel they... More

We loved the tour of the plantations. The kids especially loved the ghost stories and are still talking about Boo Daddies and Haints! The only thing I would suggest is to bring along bug spray because the horseflies sure do like to bite! We weren't prepared for that. Luckily Cap'n Rod's first mate was nice enough to let us use... It was one of the best afternoons I have ever spent! Informative and entertaining. History lessons galore! I disliked Myrtle Beach, but I would return to take another of Captain Rod's tours!

This tour to the lighthouse has a bit of everything. History, boat ride, sandy beaches and lots of shells. The captain added a bit of entertainment to the history lesson and made the boat ride out to the lighthouse island very memorable. We had no trouble finding seashells as well as seeing a dolphin as we were pulling up to... More

My family (party of 6) went on Cap'n Rod's tour today and we were very pleasantly surprised! The trip to shell island was the biggest hit! We found a ton of beautiful shells! My kids LOVED THIS (ages 3 and 4). We ended up seeing a pod of dolphins, several alligators, a bald eagle and nest. Overall we would do... More

Cap'n Rod, Ms. Fran and Chris were amazing. This was our first trip to S.C. and we had a blast on the 4 hr. lighthouse tour. Cap'n Rod was very polite, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about the history of Georgetown and S.C. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great way to spend a few hours. He gave... Our family took a 400 trip and enjoyed every minute of the travel. The captain was enthused and humorous as he gave the history of plantations , revolutionary war sites, civil war sites, native plants ,animals , dolphins ,birds. It's a neat inlet with delopment growing yet loads of preservation / wilderness land surrounding the shores .Shelling was fun and the... More
