I have been coming to this beach since 1955, when at 5 years of age, I stood in awe of the big water that kept flushing, and flushing, and flushing. Now with 4 generations in the family, GCB is still very family oriented, less crowded, less noisy and without the night life that spoils the vacation for families with young... More

We visited the pier daily. Fishing was great, there are bars to get a nice refreshment, the food was good. There is also a ice cream store next to the pier.

We didn't go to the pier until the last night of our stay and i wish we would have went sooner. The kids had fun in the arcade and watching the fisherman. We all enjoyed the live music. lots of fun!

We have been going to Garden City Pier for many years. We used to have a vacation home in Surfside, but preferred the pier in Garden City (very close by.) Now we stay on the far north end, almost in North Myrtle Beach, and we drive for almost an hour in traffic just to get to the Pier at Garden... More

This was my favorite pier we visited on our vacation. It was recommended to us by a local. He told us that was the best place to go to see sharks...and it was. Plus, it was the only free pier we found. It's a happening little shopping area also, if you don't mind big crowds.

We absolutely love this pier. It is completely free to walk on (which is not always the case). In addition to the pier itself there is a pier cafe where you can eat breakfast/lunch/dinner and have a view of the ocean. The food is basically like any greasy spoon or Waffle House but you can sit and look at the... More

You can park under the pier and walk on he pier for free which is very nice! The umbrellas are a nice touch too. Built-in fishing chairs, nice arcade, gift shop, bar, make this pier a definite win!!

This is a great location is you don't care the Myrtle Beach crowds. There is an arcade at the pier and just across the street. Several souvenier stores are there too. The best thing I liked was the pier had benches you could sit at with unbrella's to keep the sun off you. They were nicely spaced. At the end... More

My husband and I really appreciated that there was no charge to walk along the pier. We have been to other beach destinations that charge a fee just to take a walk. During our week long Garden City vacation, we visited numerous times. We often would include a walk to end of the pier as part of our early morning... More

Live music on both ends of the pier and karaoke at specific times at night. We love it here. It's fun to listen to the music and people watch. It might not be too kid friendly because alcohol is served so keep that in mind if you have children you're thinking about taking. We didn't fish any off the pier... More
