Great beach at Charleston

Uncrowded beach with gentle waves. Lots of nice shops in town. Parking can be a little dicey though.

Rented a house last minute for a week..with 12 of us ..3 families and 6 "kids" ages 17-23.. I Love the no crowds at north end of the island and long beach walks all the way to the lighthouse beach. Clean beaches and lovely pier.

We went to Folly for the first time and had a little trouble finding parking at 11:30-12. It's kinda weird seeing people parked in front of everyone's houses and its hard to tell if its actual house owners or beach goers. We found parking in a lot right off the beach for $7. We had to walk quite a ways... More

We head out here one Saturday afternoon so yeah! there's a little traffic. You have to pay $7-9 for parking, or for brave souls, just park wherever you deem safe which we noticed a lot of people are doing..lol. A little crowded for our liking but it's worth a visit.

Love this beach! Have never been on the charleston coast and the sand was solo smooth and not hurtful to the feet, just hot close to the hotel! The people we nice and I didn't feel as if I has to guard my stuff while in the ocean. Awesome

Do not skip the beach when you are next in Charleston. Our tips for the most fun on the sand: 1. Go early; We arrived at the beach each day around 7:00 a.m., sat in our chairs, ate our breakfast, and enjoyed the breeze and scenery. The traffic was backed up for MILES when we left at noon. Do not... More

It was our first time visiting Folly Beach. I can't say it was a wonderful experience nor can I said it was a bad one. The parking is a tad ridiculous. Maybe it would be worth visiting Folly Beach if you had an ocean front condo/villa. If you're just a visitor, well, the parking is ridiculous and quite a rip... More
