Great to go to the Beach. Wish it could have been a longer visit. Great place to return for another visit.

Folly Beach was a nice "discovery". There are several beaches to choose from in the Charleston area, and we more or less - did an "eenie meenie miney moe" thing. And what a super nice surprise. This beach was clean. The boardwalk was awesome. Views from one end of the beach the other. We were only visiting the area for... More

We very much enjoyed this beach. We actually stayed here for 5 days at a private rental house 1 block from the beach. The beach is wide & very clean-even though it is a dog friendly beach! Fun to watch the surfers, search for shells, & play in the water. It felt very safe. Be aware that the beach access... More

As soon as you get over the fact that some locals don't like tourists, this is a great destination. It was our first time so we made a few mistakes like going into town for dinner or ice cream (in July). Once we were acclimated it was great. My family of seven can't wait to go back. Our realtors were... More

Great family atmosphere, not exceptionally crowded, beach parking tricky if using side streets and expensive if you're using public access parking areas. Great shelling area too!

This beach is amazing. It is free to walk on to and the water is warm! The beach was also not crowed at all and we went at the end of July. The beach stretch is extremely long so it offers a lot of space. I will be coming back again.

I went at the end of July and the weather was nice and though there were lots of people I didn't have any difficulty finding a nice spot. The town itself is small with not much to offer except touristy stores. Lots of rocks on the beach as well. It's certainly not as pretty as the Gulf Coast but a... More

We went all the way to the end of the beach road and accessed the beach via the county park. It was $7 for our car. Then we rented two chairs and an umbrella for $25 for the whole day. There are porta-potties for restrooms, if you need them. There are outdoor showers available for rinsing off the sand. They... More

Our family came out to Folly Beach in the evening three nights running. It was clean, pleasant, and we all had a good time. Shelling wasn't great, but otherwise fun.

The beach was a ten, white sand and scenic surf. Very close to Charleston and shopping. Enjoy site seeing and visiting all the local establishments. The fishing pier offered many attractions.
