I started coming here in 1994 when my sister had a beach house right on Palmetto Blvd. and immediatly fell in love with the island and southern life. I've rented homes about 15 times since then, sometimes making the 20 hour dirve from Wisonsin twice a year. My daughters, grandson and I love beachcombing twice a day and taking trips... more

Was so glad to see my beloved Edisto as top 10 beach in the US. I grew up summers there, and now have a home on the island. Hard to describe the place, but it's cloe to heaven, and will transform your state of mind. more

We stayed at the Live Oak State Park campground during the last week of June. After reading some of the other reviews about bugs and park rangers, we were a bit worried, but everything turned out amazing! I thought our site was closer to the beach and was disappointed to find it was a short drive or a long walk,... more

We just returned from edisto Island state park. This was our second time staying here. The place is so nice. The beach was uncrowded and campground itself is perfect. If you want a place to go and relax this is the place to go. People were very friendly. I thought the rangers were friendlier this time than in the past... more

We stayed at the Live Oak campground April 29 through May 2, 2008. We had tried to get a spot at the beach, but it was full. The Live Oak campground was nice, but too close to the road. Looking at the map, I didn't think this would be an issue, since on the map the road doesn't look like... more

Just returned from Edisto Beach and it was AWESOME!!!! We camped on site #9. Site #10 is also a great pick bc it has a huge oak tree in the middle, perfect for shade. We were able to fit 2 six person tents at our campsite. Each site comes with electricity, water connection, picnic table and a fire pit with... more

I don' think it is possible to find a campground so close to the beach - which is the best feature of the park. The beach goes on for miles of unspoiled sand. While we were there during the last week of June, there were turtles coming in to lay eggs every night. Of course, you are not allowed to... more

My family travels down to Edisto Island State Park a few times a year (for day trips), and usually spend a week there every other year. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills (but get there early or you won't get one). We love the beach, especially because of the "shelling". I've walked through the campground, never stayed there... more

We love the Edisto Beach State Park. We go camping there at least one week every year. It's our favorite place to camp. There isn't much to do there, except for the beach and the Serpentarium, but...................it's so relaxing and soooooooo peaceful. It's just beautiful! Tip: If you are camping there at the state park................bring your own groceries. The only... more

We loved it so much that we had to buy a house there and become an edistonian. The town is small and everyone knows each other. there are great historic tours and lots to do here. I would say that I will NEVER go to myrtle beach again, charleston is 35min away, what more could you ask for!!!!!Young and old... more
