Edisto has so much to offer, the serpentarium is no exception. Lots to see and learn, great staff, very clean and professional. Be sure to stay for or call ahead to attend the shows...both alligator and snake. Great experiences for all ages who like learning more about nature.

Educational, involving, something fun to do that we can't do back home. A little pricy, but an all around solid family fun activity. My kids loved holding a baby alligator and Python and watching the gators feed.

We took our 6 grand kids to the Serpentarium. They were from 3 to 12 years old and all generally enjoy nature and creatures. They really enjoyed the experience, especially feeding the turtles and holding a snake. The snake show was very informative; the lady did a great job. The only complaint we had was that in our opinion the... More

Very nice collection of snakes, with a few very large enclosures where hopefully the animals have as much space as they need. From huge gators to adorable tiny turtles, there's something for most reptile lovers.

Indiana Jones would be terrified at this place. Lots of snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles, alligators, and more. My kids thought this stop was one of the coolest on our family trip. My 12 year old was able to feed an alligator with food tied to a rope on a bamboo pole. My younger ones were able to hold a boa... More

I am not the biggest fan of reptiles but even I had a good time. My husband and 8yo daughter were in Heaven, between holding snakes and watching the alligators get fed. We had no idea this place was so huge. Spent far more time here than we expected. Would definitely go back.

We expected this to be very small and quaint, but it is actually a nice educational way to spend a few hours if you want to get away from the beach a little. The feeding shows were good and we enjoyed seeing Big George snack down on a couple of chicken halves. Good for all ages, not just kids. The... More

And pretty fun for adults as well. It's big enough to have a good variety. And small enough to be easily managed in 2-2/12 hours. Kids getting to touch snakes (zero risk) and see the croc feeding makes their day. One tip: go only at times when the snake "talk" and the croc feeding are being done. Important not to... More

I'd check the schedule so that you do one of these on arrival, see the exhibits, and take in the other before leaving. Some days they feed chicken, on others live rats. If you a squeamish skip this or call ahead and go on a chicken day. There's a small indoor exhibit, but most of the animals are outside. You... More

This was a great way to spend an afternoon after we got too much sun at the beach! The exhibits are very impressive! We were able to see many varieties of snakes and turtles, as well as alligators, crocodiles and cayman. The alligator feeding was a must see and the trainer was so informative. We enjoyed the snake show and... More
