Although I did not get a chance to play Melrose, I did walk a few of the holes and all I can say is it looked perfect. Clean and very well manicured.

Two of us had a wonderful round of golf on Daufuskie today. We made a tee time with the golf resort and then called the water taxi service they recommended. The water taxi left Harbortown, Hilton Head and only took 15 minutes. The assistant pro picked us up from the dock and drove us to the course. We never ran... More

Played Melrose on April 20th. We were met at the clubhouse by the Staff and were quickly set up to play a round of golf. Having played the course about 5 time, that latest was around 2007. This was one of my top 3 courses ever played! Since about 2008 this course has had money trouble but somehow they keep... More

Played a round in early April 2015 while staying at Bloody Point. Arrived at Pro Shop just before 8am and place was all but deserted except for the pro and one of the course staff. Hit balls at the range for about 30 minutes, insect repellent is a MUST as there are a lot of gnats from the ocean/marsh area.... More

A friend and I came to Daufuskie in late March for 3 days of photo ops, and were introduced to the Melrose area by local guide Ed Campbell. As luck would have it, it was nesting season at the little island rookery near the Melrose Inn, which is currently undergoing renovations. There were dozens of nesting wood storks, snowy egrets,... Its truly unfortunate that this place went belly up some years ago but boy the gems that are hidden there....!!! It is so untouched and simply gorgeous. From the golf grounds to the whole Melrose area. I only spent half a day exploring the island and immediately started planning a mini vacation to stay here for a little. Due to... More

My brothers and I take a golf vacation together each year. Usually to Orlando or Hilton Head. Our trip this year was to Hilton Head from 11/15/2014 to 11/22/2014. We played primarily the Heritage Club courses but on our last day we decided to try Melrose on the Beach on Daufuskie Island. We were not disappointed. Our day began with... More

I first golfed at Melrose on Daufuskie Island 8 years ago. It was such a memorable event that I couldn't wait to go back on this trip to Hilton Head Island, and I was not disappointed. In fact, it was even better. Yes, you do have to charter a boat to get over - but that's half the fun! We... More

Just played the back 9 last week. Great people, great golf carts w/loaded GPS that told us distance of our played balls. Beautiful scenery. Course well groomed. Reasonably priced. Let's keep this one a secret!

I just played there last week and am certain I have found another must see experience when bring friends down to HH. The ride over to Daufuskie was great, little rigid hull zodiak with another set of golfers zipped us over in about 15 min with dolphins following us for a good portion of the ride. You are greeted at... More
