The Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park is a beautiful park in the middle of Downtown Columbia. A Free Park to all. Park your car at the top of the Canal and travel down the sidewalks to explore the beauty of nature. Wear walking shoes and cool clothing. The trees are in bloom right now along with the gorgeous view of... More

Great place to walk around exercise. Feels safe and there's a lot of space so you aren't bumping into others (at least the times I've gone).

For some reason I never realized this Riverfront Park was here. I had heard about it but never quite knew where it was. But when we finally took the time to find it, I was very pleased at what I found. The area around the historic canal and river have been redone with walking paths so everyone from serious runners... I really enjoyed the history of the Columbia water works. The paths are very well maintained and the views of the river are incredible.

The river is pretty. Much of the downstream part of the park is closed as private, but you can walk up to the hydro station. The area is very clean and felt safe. There was a dog-bag dispenser, and dogs are welcome.

The two ends of the canal path are very different with more development and paved parking on the southern end and a dirt road and parking on the northern end (off of Broad River Road). I like this contrast as it provides two options to suit my mood. Also, the Northern end has a dam to add to the experience... More

We were able to get in at the end of the day and didn't have tons of time. The history of the place was interesting. Many plaques to read. The grounds around the House are interesting as well.

Was looking for a nice place to talk after the zoo and came upon this park. There was plenty of parking so after that I made my way down to the river to take a walk and enjoyed the peace and the nice scenery. I also stopped and took some photos at the old pumping station. My only complaint is... More
