We appreciate them letting the Aggies fans hold their traditional yell practice at the State House. The SC students did show up and try and ruin it but the Columbia Police Department escorted them off.

Make sure you attend the free tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about history and it showed! Early September was the perfect time to visit, as legislature was not in session and we could tour the house and senate wings. Don't miss... More

A great tour of the State House filled with so much history and tidbits of information. You can actually see where General Sherman's cannon balls hit the building. Wow!

We found the tour very informative and interesting. Learning the history of the State House, how it was involved in the war, and how it is used today. The decorative touches and painting. We loved the tour.

Well worth a visit to this historic State Capitol. In particular, the Chambers have a historic feel to them. Slightly surprised to see the Confederate flag prominently flying outside but this is part of the local history.

The tour of the State House is free and the tour guides are helpful and friendly. Also, check out the gift shop. The gift shop employees will give you information about attractions and local information. They even gave me a free map that highlighted some of the popular sites. I was very impressed that they seemed to have created this... More
