I have gone to this zoo since I was a child. I have seen it grow and change throughout the years. It has always been one of my favorite places to visit and see animals. Several years ago, they started making some changes. There have been great additions, like being able to feed the birds and giraffe, ride a pony,... More

My wife and I love zoos. We've been to plenty smaller zoos across the country, and Riverbanks is one of the better smaller ones. My wife is from the area, and will tell you this place has come a long way. Riverbanks feels much more authentic now, and any traveler or local should spend a few hours here. Plan wisely,... More

This is a really nice zoo. It's a decent size, so it will definately take you a few hours to look around at everything, especially if you take the time to do any of the feedings. It is best to go when it's warmer outside, we happen to go once when it was a bit chilly out and most of... More

Riverbanks is unique in that a river runs through the middle, separating the zoo from the botanical gardens. The exhibits show animals in their natural habitat and great effort has gone into planning so they are not in cages. We love to watch the penguins and flamingos. There is a ropes course and animal barn for kids and a great... More

You will have a fantastic time with your friends and family at the Riverbanks Zoo. It's hard to fit it all in in one day, but be sure to include the Botannical Gardens in your visit. Kids will love the rock climbing, carousel, and petting zoo. The reptile house is great, and the bird house is always a favorite. The... More

Riverbanks is a great zoo with lots to offer and a lot of great exhibits. The one thing I do NOT like about the zoo is that they try to nickel and dime you for everything, from the pony rides, to the Merry-go-round, to charging for the roasted marshmallows at the lights before Christmas. While I think it's a great... More

This is an excellent place to visit while in Columbia. I generally take friends and family there when they visit us. The children enjoy it immensely. Adults often want to visit the botanical garden as well. Columbia is not a tourist mecca so I'm truly happy that it can boast of having such a place.

Nice that you can visit both for one entrance fee. Nicely designed, with interesting things to do for both adults and kids. Brand new zipline opened last year that goes over river separating zoo & gardens.

Being able to spend time with my children and learn more about the animals at the zoo. The prices were good and there was plenty to do throughout the zoo. Had a wonderful time.
