Just one of the greatest zoos in the U.S. (according to magazine ratings). We take our grandchildren there very frequently and love it!

We don't live near a zoo that has typical zoo animals, so this was a real treat for us! Can do brisk zoo walk in 1 hour OR you can easily spend 3 hours if you want the whole experience (zoo, gardens, small historic mill ruin museum). Paved walkways. Lots of bathrooms. Free Parking. Tram to garden recommended unless you... More

One of the highlights is the Australian animals. You can walk-through an exhibit of Wallabies and Red Kangaroos. You can feed the colorful Lories nectar from a small paper cup in an aviary; where they sit on your hand, arm, or even your head. You can also see Koalas and different kinds of Australian reptiles and fish. This zoo has... More

The Columbia Zoo is VERY nice. It is clean and the exhibits are of adequate size, and many are natural environments. I had heard it was one of the top ten zoos in the country, and now I agree and know why. The Koala bears are very cute and you can get very close to them. All the animals looked... More

Very clean and lots to see, however, the majority of the park is under construction until Spring 2015/Spring 2016, yet I paid full price. Aquarium could use a sprusing up too. Too many elephants in such a small enclosure as well. There is pricing for a $20 wristband to ride all the rides which was a waste of money.

Go early. Check your guide for feeding times and be there.! Best family fun for the buck. You can hit an early matinee and quick lunch if they are still complaining and cook out that night and sleepy time will ware it's will. ...ie...Gardens are sweet in season.

Our flight didn't leave until 5 p.m. that day so we had time to explore the surroundings a bit before we went home from seeing my brother graduate from Fort Jackson. I went with my parents and my 7 year old.. Great zoo.. not too big and not too small.. just the right amount of things to see while we... More

Visited here with relatives who live in the area. Good selection of exhibits. Animals were out and active. My wife enjoyed the lions playing with the pumpkins, the giraffes up close being fed and the apes. Botanical garden was lovely and very peaceful. We ate at Tuskers for lunch. Nothing special about the food; just average zoo food. Good family... More

This is one of the best small zoos I have visited. Although it had some major construction going on, it was very nice to visit. the animals were out and there was plenty to see. The botanical gardens were great as well. There are a number of activities for the visitors as well. Including zip lining and a massive jungle... More
