First time to this Zoo and it was easy to move around. My son enjoyed the Playground. Enjoyed looking at all the animals.

When I drove 2-1/2 hours to visit last year, I did not realize that most of the outdoor exhibits were under construction. Hopefully they are done by now.

We were really looking forward to this on our trip. Didn't hardly see any animals and the pens were actually small for some of the animals. They need to do away with the rat exhibit. Looked like something was thrown together with see through pipes. It was actually sad. The animals seemed sad to us. We come from Memphis so... More

We were the only two in the Gardens on Sunday 8/24; and what a pleasure of sight, smell and touch. Wow! is too simple a phrase to cover the myriad of sensations one experiences when walking thru the Gardens -- and I'm not a "flower person." The zoo was, as usual, very enjoyable with many of the larger animals out... More

This is a really nice zoo that is great for a one day excursion. It is good size but not so big you can't see everything in one day. They have some really cool animals and exhibits, like the Giraffe feeding station where you can get cloase to - and feed - the Giraffe. They also have a really cool... More

I arrived here about an hour and a half before closing, and it just wasn't enough time to take in all this wonderful attraction has to offer. I was able to see the majority of the Zoo, but even with the aid of the shuttle, I was only able to scratch the surface of the lovely, and less crowded, Botanical... More

Bears moved to another zoo until next year as they build new home for bears and added otters. It looks like about 1/3 of zoo is under construction. I would suggest waiting until Spring 2015 to visit again. But we will still go visit again this fall as we love the zoo.

This is the only major zoo in the Carolinas and is an easy day trip from Charlotte, NC and major cities in South Carolina. The zoo charges $13 per adult, a deal compared to zoos in other major cities, while still offering exciting exhibits and favorite zoo animals including lions, tigers, koalas, kangaroos, gorillas, giraffes, zebras, elephants and more. The... More

It's the first zoo which I've visited that allows you to walk side-by-side with kangaroos and wallaby's. The admission was about $14 per person. There is construction happening, and will continue to happen until mid-2016, so parts of the zoo are blocked off and some of the animals (in our case today the bears are visiting another zoo during construction)...
