It seems the average reviewer is rating this based on their educational experience or their joy of going to football games--which isn't really the point and, frankly, is pretty subjective. I just love South Carolina. Great people, great beaches, fantastic restaurants wherever you go. The highway system around Columbia is a bit confusing but if you have GPS, no problem

Visit the Horseshoe and Williams-Brice Stadium. The gameday atmosphere can't be beat, but be prepared to arrive early!

Traffic in the area is a bit rough, so get a good real-time app for traffic alerts & re-routes. The bookstore is a bit challenging to find on standard GPS devices.

USC is home to a fantastic academic atmosphere, rich history, and wonderful scenery. It is always clean and well-groomed. A stroll through campus is a stroll through South Carolina history. By the way, if you can get to a night football game, you must go!

Yep, it was Gamecock country, couldn't miss it...USC soccer complex was very nice, but in the 97 degree heat, those plastic chairs could leave a tatoo on your keister!

I made a point to visit the campus of the University of South Carolina during my four day stay in the city. I explored the central lawn called the "Horseshoe" that included historic buildings and beautiful shade trees. It's a nice place to relax and take a few photos of the beautiful campus. When I arrived at the Horseshoe, several... More
