USC is a major university in the southeast, and I believe a stroll across the campus is important whenever one visits a university town or a city with a flagship university. A stop at the McKissick Museum is probably the 1st thing to do; it will orient one to the history of the university and the region, and the staff... More

Absolutely beautiful historic campus in the heart of downtown Columbia. A visit to this campus is a must when you are in or traveling through the Midlands of South Carolina.

The heart of USC's campus is the Horseshoe. It is a pretty place and an easy walk. The campus has grown so much it seems to be taking over Columbia! Williams Brice Stadium is one of the best football stadiums in the country!

Excellent productions. We have attended many kinds of plays here: drama, comedy, dance, experimental. They have all been very well staged and acted, and well worth seeing. Our complaints are two: We've noticed some re-cycling over the years; i.e., re-doing former productions we had already seen them do. I guess that is because they don't want to pay to get... More

A beautiful campus with helpful staff. We are looking at colleges for my high school son. We met with one of the professors and then took a guided tour of the campus. A great experience!

My wife and I were in Columbia for a week on business and had the opportunity to see the Lady Gamecock softball team play Georgia Southern at Heyward Field on a Tuesday night. Great fun. They were recognizing breast awareness and wearing pink jersey tops and the fans had pink rally towels to wave. Beautiful field and the seating allows... More

Gorgeous campus with lots of mature trees, gardens and beautiful, historic buildings. Don't miss the horseshoe and it's beautiful walkway amidst the school's original campus. Very Southern in that everyone we met was very friendly and hospitable. Very clean and well kept. Check out the beautiful fountain in front of the campus library. Made me want to go back to... More

Grab a coffee from one of the shops nearby and take a walk under the trees of the horseshoe. The students that live here are fortunate to have such a beautiful location.

I liked the horseshoe and all the historical markers telling about the different buildings and what they were used for.

Not your usual school with buildings here and there nothing really central nor picturesque. Columbia is kinda run down in some ares so reminded me more of one of the big cities up North all dirty and old than a revitalized city down south. I guess some folks like this dumpy type of atmosphere, just not me. Someone with any... More
