Excellent accommodations, clean boats, informative narration, great way to see Fort Sumter and the Charleston Harbor. The Rangers give an exciting account of the events leading up to the Civil War, and the first shot, fired on Fort Sumter.

We purchased thickets for both the bus tour and the harbor tour. The poor driver of the bus kept getting confused, went the wrong way down one way streets, repeatedly mixed up left and right directions to attractions, referred to "Queen Charles" when he should have said "King Charles," and many more of these kind of examples of confusion. Arriving... More

The tour was very professionally done and provided up close views of the many attractions in Charleston Harbor. The staff was very helpful and the prices for onboard merchandise were reasonable. If you decide not to visit Fort Sumter, then this tour is a great value for the money. If your party visited Fort Sumter, you will see many of... More

On 7/4 , we took the fireworks cruise. Leaves at 8:30PM and returns at 10:30PM. The top deck was set up with plastic chairs and the left side of the boat turned out to be the best for viewing. We went under the bridge which gave us some amazing views and saw many small fireworks displays before the main one.... More

The SpiritLine Sales Team is thrilled that you enjoyed our "Fireworks Cruise" on July 4th! This was the first year that we offered this fun cruise. It was a sell out cruise along with our two other ways to enjoy the Fourth of July Fireworks on Charleston Harbor, the Picnic on the Water and the SpiritLine Dinner Cruise. Thank you... More

We took this trip as part of a combo deal with the horse drawn carriage tour. Our tour guide had an excellent knowledge of the history of Charleston. This was great for adults but less interesting for children, of which we had two. The ferry journey itself was quite mundane.

Okay, my husband did not really want to do this boat ride. It is a ferry-like boat that runs all around the harbor as far out as Ft. Sumter. Boy was he glad we did though. The tour guide(aka historian) was soooo very knowledgable and interesting. He could answer any question thrown at him with a great backstory too. Reasonably... More

Nice harbor cruise. Would have liked a better narrated tour rather than a recorded guide that focused almost entirely on the civil war and Ft. Sumter. There is a Ft. Sumter tour that covers that in detail and I would have liked more information about the islands we were passing.

We are so sorry that the Harbor Tour did not meet your expectations. Typically our Harbor Tour features a licensed City of Charleston tour guide. Last week our guide became ill at the last minute and we could not provide a replacement with such short notice. Please contact a member of our Management Team to discuss your experience in more... This is the only tour that stops at Fort Sumter. You are allowed to follow the park ranger for an informative tour, or look around on your own. One at the fort, we had 1 hour before we had to be back on the boat, which was plenty of time to take in the history.

We boarded the boat at Liberty Square - the museum there was very interesting and houses the original flag flown over the Fort. A park ranger gave my kids a Junior Ranger activity to do during our tour - it helped all of us learn more from our experience! They had to answer questions about the fort and it's history... More

we enjoyed the Spiritline Harbor Cruise. We thought we would need to sit inside in the air conditioning, but even on an extremely hot day, the covered open air upper deck had such a nice breeze that it was very comfortable. The guide gave a history lesson which was informative, but some things she said did not match what we... More
