This bridge exemplifies the beauty of charleston, it's harbor and marshlands. Every day people are running and walking the bridge, taking in the views of the cooper river, the uss Yorktown and the surrounding marshlands. This is the famous cooper river bridge where each spring over 30,000 runners take to the pavement and do the famous 6k run. Driving over... More

This fabulous structure was completed a year before deadline and well under budget. That's amazing already. And the view -- walk across to savor it, and drive across and just marvel at its beauty.

We have jogged the Ravenel Bridge several times and always enjoy the view of Charleston and the smooth walking/biking trail. When we're lucky, a container ship will pass under the bridge and we can wave to the crew. Parking is easy and cheap and there is a great park under the bridge to take the kids to, or walk out... It is just so beautiful to have this sculptural art form across the Cooper River. It's lovely just to take a drive across to get a great view of Charleston from Mount Pleasant.

We just stayed in old Mt Pleasant & found the best way around traffic to go over the bridge. If you are coming south on 17, get on 526 east and then get off on Coleman Blvd. south & you will skip a number of lights and traffic & put you downtown Charleston in15 minutes or so.

Wonderful to drive or walk across, especially at sunset. It is also wonderful to see on a harbor tour and learn a little bit about how it is built.

Well designed for pedestrian traffic- bike and walking lanes within a secure area. Great view of the harbor during walk that provides visitors the opportunity to take photos.

Beautiful arched suspension bridge. I've seen reviews of folks talking about walking it and/or the views from it; but it is a LONG bridge on a busy highway, so it didn't really seem conducive to walking.

When you first come around the corner to go over the bridge, it almost takes your breath away. The actual bridge and the view from the bridge is very cool. I liked how on one side there are walkers and bikers going across the bridge. Would have loved to see it at night!
