The 10am Adults Only Tour was delightful. Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgable and fun. Early morning ride offered a pleasant breeze and less crowded carriage. We love kids but for this girlfriends trip we left them behind and enjoyed our time together. We made reservations the night before and check-in was quick and easy. Great way to see Charleston... The Slavery to Freedom Carriage Tour was perhaps the most memorable hour my daughter and I spent in Charleston, SC. Our guide, Matt, took us by one of the most significant and pivotal "docks" in American history, past the childhood home of the abolitionist/feminist sisters Grimke, the historic Mother Emanuel AME church, and more. Knowledgeable and lively, Matt provided profound... More

Our horse, Berry, took us all around town in the carriage. He was excellent at his job. The driver, Matt, was very knowledgeable on the history of Charleston. It was time well spent!

The 1 hour tour was the perfect way to see the historic area of downtown. I am informed there are 3 different tours tat are possible but it is a lottery system as to which one you will get as there is a city official that regulates the amount of horses in the different zones of the city. As your... More

I live in Charleston, so when we had family come in town we took them on this tour. The guides were friendly and getting on and off the carriage was easy, even for our older tourists! The tour lasts about an hour and winds through all types of neighborhoods downtown. Our guide was humorous and very knowledgable, we'll definitely use... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our carriage tour through Charleston. Guide was friendly, greeted everyone, and was extremely knowledgeable and invested in his company. Our particular guide has been in the touring business for 14 years and happened to have a degree in history. His love for Charleston history was evident. The horses were treated well and the employees seemed to have a... More

The carriage rides are done by lottery. We purchased our tickets and were told what time our ride was. Once the carriage was loaded the carriage got assigned which tour route to take by a lottery. We were lucky and got the Battery. This means the guides need to know all the information for all of the different tours. We... More

This tour was a great way to get acclimated to the city. The tour had a nice mix of comedy and history all while seeing different parts of the city. Our 11 and 8 year old kids enjoyed it as well.

Enjoyed an informative and educational tour with Todd (and horse "Bud"). This being our first visit / vacation to Charleston, we thought by beginning our visit with a carriage tour we would get a nice overview / lay of the land (and I'm so glad we did). We learned so much about the city, relative to the Revolutionary War and... More
