I don't think you could go wrong with any of the carriage rides but no trip to Charleston is complete without taking a carriage tour. We do this every time we visit as the tour guides are so knowledgeable and can share so much of the city's rich history. And they are funny too!! Well worth it - and it's... More

Wonderful way to see the city. Our driver was a History major and he knew his stuff regarding the war between the states and owners of the mansions. We did a walking tour as well but learned so much more from a different perspective. Very relaxing if you rather not walk.

Our tickets were purchased online (with a discount). We chose the adults only tour, which left at 10:00 AM before the streets were very crowded. The guide was very interesting and easy to understand. After the ride, we went to the market, walked around town, and had a late lunch at 82 Queen. The barbecue shrimp and grits were delicious.

While in Charleston, we stumbled upon the barns for all the carriage tours. They were all nice and when they heard we owned horses let us wander in the barns. Classic Carriage uses only Percheron horses and they seemed the best cared for (although they all looked good). So glad we decided to take their tour! Our driver, Greg, had... More

This was a great way to see historic charleston and save her feet. You get a little history, see some great architecture, and learn some interesting stories. The best was Larry the horse.

Berry the horse and his awesome guide Chris took us on a lovely tour for 2 hours through Charleston. This my girlfriend's first time meeting SC where I grew up so I needed to introduce her the right way! It was her birthday and Thanksgiving weekend so all the carriage rides were booked but I found this one! The process... More

To be honest, my husband and I were at first disappointed on discovering that individual carriage tours were fully booked for the day and were kicking ourselves for not having realized that Valentines Day would be a busy time for this attractive. But we quickly discovered that group tours have amazing guides. Ours was a historic preservation specialist with a... More

This was our second tour with Classic Carriage and the second tour with our guide Ginger. We were on route 2 (last time it was route 1). Ginger is very knowledgable on the history of Charleston and the various buildings and homes we passed. We would recommend Classic Carriage Works.

We went to do a horse and buggy ride, and turned out we were the only ones who booked at that particular time. So that was a bonus. The man doing the tour was very knowledgeable of the area as well We always enjoy doing a carriage tour, but having it to our self was great.
