Took the civil war tour with Matt. Excellent job discussing the events leading up to the war and what Charleston went through during the war.

I had not realised there was such competition going on in Charleston as I booked the carriage in advance before leaving the UK. I picked this one becuase you can book a no kids trip and because people seemed to like this company. I also was not aware of how charming this part of XCharleston was and so I was... More

There are a lot of carriages to choose from in Charleston, and I'm glad I chose this one! They offer 2 special tours, a slavery tour and a civil war tour, and I did both of them. The tour guides really knew their stuff! I was able to see Charleston as the city is was within the city it is... More

We took a Classic Carriage Works ride on a beautiful December afternoon and enjoyed every minute of it! Our guide, Patrick, was amazingly informative, well spoken and fun. We booked the "adults only" (really, no kids under 8 allowed). The carriage was well-maintained and blankets were provided. The horse looked very healthy and well treated (and we were invited into... Had a great tour of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the city and its history. Our young daughters enjoyed seeing the horses and the houses but did get a little bored (which was to be expected). Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our tour through historic Charleston. Our guide was both informative and entertaining, and we loved our horse, Jake. Classic Carriage Works seems to take really good care of their horses, and they have nice, spacious stalls when they're not working. The horses also get a considerable amount of vacation time at a farm or whatnot! Pretty impressive!... More

I have taken carriage rides in the past and every one is different. This one was informative and funny. Although the weather was nippy in the shade; the sun warmed everyone up. The driver was comfortable with people.

Matt and his horse Barry gave us a wonderful overview of the city, and showed us many of the great ante bellum mansions and town houses. His knowledge, especially of the history of Charleston, was impressive, and he kept us all amused and entertained throughout
