There are many carriage tours to take in Charleston, but this seems to be the best by far. They treat their horses with such care, and my tourguide, Lydia was both historically informative, and told us funny things about the historic parts and had the answers to every qustion the full carriage had. I highly recommend this tour above the... more

My husband and I, my two children (3 and 6) and sister took this tour on a recent visit to Charleston. It was wonderful and it was the highlight of our trip. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interacted well with our children. The ride through the city was just beautiful and it was so interesting to learn a... more

We went for the on-line booking discount and confirmed our bookings with a phone-call. The kids (8 and 10) loved it. Since the carriage is allotted a route at random, one can't be picky about the route. Luckily we got Rainbow Row so it was a bonus for us. It's relaxing, educational and nostalgic at times. Worth the $. more

The carriage ride was wonderful. Our tour guide was a guy named Scott, and he really knew the city amongst other history very well. We took the private ride, which is definitely worth the extra money. more

I would only recommend the carriage tour, just for the carriage ride. We took a tour with Gullah Tours that covered the same information with lot more extras. Nevertheless, the carriage ride was relaxing. I highly recommend going to "Classic Carriage Tours" website and take advantage of the "early bird" special. It's a discount and your tour is early enough... more

My husband and I visited Charleston over three short days and ran into a little snafu over our plans. The staff at Classic Carriage were so gracious to work with us and make sure that we had a good experience. Apart from that, the tour guide gave a lot of background about the city that didn't sound memorized or scripted.... more

Took a 12:15 carriage tour on March 31. We had not made reservations in advance and were fortunate enough to walk up and be able to join this tour. (I think it's $18 in advance and $20 walk-up.) There are 4 zones in Charleston and the carriage company/driver does not get to pick which zone you will visit. The carriage... more

My husband and I took the early morning tour with Tim as our guide and the carriage pulled by Kevin. Tim is knowledgeable (He's a grad of the university in Charleston with a history degree) and provided interesting information about historical events of the city and architectural styles of the various homes and buildings. We have been to Charleston several... more

I also highly recommend taking a carriage tour. Our tour guide was a young smiling man who was only 4 month on the job so he was informative and neither monotonous or boring. We were six, four adults and two kids, it was a bit chilly but we enjoyed every minute. We went on tour area #2 I think and... more

My family and I really enjoyed our tour guide and felt like we got what we paid for (which was $18 a ticket instead of $20 because they honored coupons for other carriage companies). more
