I would only recommend the carriage tour, just for the carriage ride. We took a tour with Gullah Tours that covered the same information with lot more extras. Nevertheless, the carriage ride was relaxing. I highly recommend going to "Classic Carriage Tours" website and take advantage of the "early bird" special. It's a discount and your tour is early enough... more

My husband and I visited Charleston over three short days and ran into a little snafu over our plans. The staff at Classic Carriage were so gracious to work with us and make sure that we had a good experience. Apart from that, the tour guide gave a lot of background about the city that didn't sound memorized or scripted.... more

Took a 12:15 carriage tour on March 31. We had not made reservations in advance and were fortunate enough to walk up and be able to join this tour. (I think it's $18 in advance and $20 walk-up.) There are 4 zones in Charleston and the carriage company/driver does not get to pick which zone you will visit. The carriage... more

My husband and I took the early morning tour with Tim as our guide and the carriage pulled by Kevin. Tim is knowledgeable (He's a grad of the university in Charleston with a history degree) and provided interesting information about historical events of the city and architectural styles of the various homes and buildings. We have been to Charleston several... more

I also highly recommend taking a carriage tour. Our tour guide was a young smiling man who was only 4 month on the job so he was informative and neither monotonous or boring. We were six, four adults and two kids, it was a bit chilly but we enjoyed every minute. We went on tour area #2 I think and... more

My family and I really enjoyed our tour guide and felt like we got what we paid for (which was $18 a ticket instead of $20 because they honored coupons for other carriage companies). more

If you are visiting Charleston for the first time, you must include a carriage ride in your activities! Our tour guide was great...his name was Kevin and he was very informative and funny. The horses they use are beautiful and a special part of the trip as well. There is something special about touring Charleston by carriage and this company... more

First of all, I'd highly recommend taking a carriage tour of Charleston - you will learn a lot about the colourful history of the city that otherwise would escape you. It also helps you see what treasures the city offers. Finally, going on a horsedrawn carriage seems so appropriate given the charm and elegance of the surroundings. Recommending which tour... more

I highly reccomend taking a carriage tour. Our tour guide was very infomative and not so monotone and boring. We had tour area #3 I think and it was of the residential area just north of downtown. We saw the Rhett house and several old churches. It was nice and quiet and off the beaten path which I liked. Our... more
