Lovely Island. 15 min from Charleston, 15 min to Sullivan's Island Beach. 15 min from airport. Semmets is a great restaurant on the island. The owner paintings hang in the restaurant. Great food, great service.

We took a drive through Daniel Island and there was some nice view and stopping areas. A small lake that we were able to stop and view and walk along with setting areas we saw fish, birds and nice houses.

If you are visiting from out of town, there isn't that much to see/do on Daniel Island. There are a few cute shops: Monkee, Paisley and a few others and there is a great restaurant - Laura Albrecht's. Other than that - if you aren't there to play tennis/golf, I can't imagine why you would visit here on a trip... More

As Mt. Pleasant becomes more and more crowded which is evident by the commute anywhere, Daniel island is positioned as the place to live in Charleston. Why? For starters it is safe. Kids can ride bikes and play in parks and not have to dodge traffic. The community has been planned for families. Though I don't live on DI, the... More

If your are looking for an alternative, Daniel Island is worth the stop. Though it is situated a 15 minute drive to the beach or downtown Charleston the atmosphere is comfortable and laid back. It was fun to check out the island and I especially liked Semet, the restaurant. There are other restaurants to choose from on the island, a... More

Daniel Island is a relatively new housing development just upriver from Charleston with easy access by car or boat. It is not yet fully developed so it will be a few years before it has the look and feel of a complete community, but it already has several very good restaurants and wonderful amenities.

I went to the Family Circle Stadium for 2 nights to see my favorite band!!! Loved the venue. Enjoyed the Daniel Island Grill also!!! Great atmosphere and food :) Loved the quaint little island all around.

Daniel Island is old time "Americana". Never have seen a community so family oriented. Multitude of parks, children, bicycle riders, walkers, joggers, small shopping area, etc. etc. Daniel Island is well manicured with a variety of new homes and many still under construction. A very nice place to raise a family just outside the Mt. Pleasant and Charleston area. Family... More

We saw Hootie and the Blowfish at the Family Circle Cup stadium. It offered great fast food, including a food truck that sold cornbread! All the seats are good and bathrooms aplenty!
