I was able to book and pay for our ride on my phone for myself, my sister and two nieces. Dave, our tour guide matched us up with great horses. I'm sure all of them were great. Beautiful ride near Middleton Place with spanish moss covered trees. Pretty pastures with dozing horses. Breath taking views of old rice fields. A... More

I went expecting a great time. I got way more than that. It has a very friendly guide. You go through the forest and around a swamp. If you are in the Charleston area you must visit this attraction.

We completely agree with GipsieGirl's rating of Best Hour Long Trail Ride Ever as well!! Middleton Stables is an easy location to find, just a short drive from Charleston, which is very convenient! The property is beautiful with very well kept stables & horses, and huge Live Oak trees draped with Spanish Moss. The ride includes lovely shaded paths through... More

We'd toured the Middleton Plantation before but the trail ride allowed us to explore the more natural and "wild" parts of the property. We didn't ride directly through the formal gardens or up to the house or anything. The trails are in a different area than the plantation formal gardens. We were a group of seven adults and everyone enjoyed... More

I highly recommend Middleton Stables for the beautiful scenery of historic Middleton Place, rightfully listed by National Geographic among the top 50 outdoor destinations in the U.S. Not too shabby. :) The horses are great, and our guide picked a sweet, gentle paint for my mom, who wasn't very experienced and a bit nervous around horses. She absolutely loved the... More

Would love to know who your guide was for your ride. I have two, Andy or David. If you can't remember the names if you could tell me what day of the week you rode I can figure it out. Glad you had a great time. Thank you for the review and riding with us. More

My husband and I had our first visit to Charleston last week. This was definitely on the top of the list for favorite things that we did. The people at the stable are very friendly and know the history of the area well. There were 8 people in our group. We were near the end of the line and weren't... More

My friend and I are residents of the Charleston area and made plans a few months ago to try horseback riding this past Saturday (May 18, 2013). Well, the weather held up and things went on as planned. It was the first time for both of us and we both are so happy we did this and we'll probably go... More

Wonderful way to make new, very special memories! Beautiful scenery, wonderful guide (Andy), great horses (Brownie and Eddie), and fabulous food. I surprised my husband with this and we both couldn't have been happier. The weather was perfect (high 60's and crystal clear) after two previous days of cold rain. This could not have been a more perfect way to... More

Trail ride was fun, Andy was our guide, great guide and fits the role. Ride was almost an hour along lakes and woods, saw a couple dozen gators sunning, and lots of birds, several great blues. He pointed out various trees and shared considerable history. Horses were well trained and cooperated perfectly.

This was a nice distraction. Horses seemed more than just trail horses though. Guide was very knowledgeable. We saw a lot of alligators on this ride. Had hoped to see more of the plantation grounds on the ride though.
