Our foursome had a one day excursion to Charleston in April, so we booked the 3-home tour with Original Charleston Walks. We had a very fun and personalized tour with Andrea, visiting the Thomas Elfe House, the Nathaniel Russell House and finally the Edmonston-Alston House. Andrea did a superb job of interweaving the City's history with local anecdotes. She is... More

We decided to do many tours with this company and boy were we pleased!! My husband and I were the only ones on the tour! We got 3 personal tours around Charleston!! What made it even better is that the tour guides are local and know their stuff and they know not to cover what other tours may.... they keep... More

On a mid-April trip to the Carolina low-country we spent 3 wonderful days in Charleston, SC. While there we took two walking tours with Old Charleston Walking Tours (also known as The Original Charleston Walks), The Civil War and Slavery Tour and the History and Homes Tour. Both were fun and informative and over far too soon. We were lucky... More

I took the Charleston Walks' "standard" 2 hr. walking tour of Charleston and had a great time! Our tour guide, John was very knowledgable, very patient with our questions, and since we were only a group of 3, customized our tour with the places we really wanted to see ( like the alleys and the lesser known/less travelled areas) as... Legends and Ghosts evening tour was terrible. Unbelievable, not scary and not historical. Maybe it was our guide but this was the biggest waste of money ever! More

My husband and I enjoyed this tour,it was a little long. Our guide, Brian, was very knowledgeable. This is a great tour for the HISTORY of pirates. We got to see some of the oldest buildings in Charleston, also with our walk/tour cost we received admisson to the Old Provost and Dungeon. More

Family took the Ghost tour on Christmas eve, December 24th. The guide was really into his job. His enthusiasm and story telling were superior. Although one would expect to hear many stories, he was extremely long winded and told many, too many bad jokes. He tried a little too hard and was unable to read his audience. You could tell... More

This evening, some friends and I took the Ghosts and Legends walk, and it was unfortunately very disappointing. The tour guide arrived late, and offered no apology or explanation. She made little effort to engage the group, and plowed along ahead of us without much conversation. She made several statements that were historically inaccurate, in spite of the fact that... More

On a recent trip to Charleston, it was suggested that we try the walking tour offered by the Original Charleston Walks tour group. My husband and I were interested in a tour involving local "haunts" and a hotel employee referred us to this company. I have to say the tour was very well done and our guide, Al, was both... More

We brought our kids (13 & 6) on this ghost walk. We were worried that it would be too scary for them but they enjoyed it and they didn't get too creeped out. The walk is, like others have mentioned, a history lesson. BUT- if you are lucky you may get some good pictures. I got a couple good pics... More
