My wife and I took the downtown tour while in Charleston and enjoyed it immensely. The guide seemed knowledgeable and was very personable, willing to answer any question, even offering his card if we wanted some information later. The food was plentiful and quite good, definitely enough for lunch! It was a little heavy on the desserts for our tastes... More

About 18 months ago we did the downtown tour. It was great. The food was amazing, the chefs were great to hear from, and the guide was wonderful. When it was recommended by someone in our group to do another one there wasn't a second of hesitation. We decided to do the upper king tour. What we actually were able... More

My sister and I took the Farmers Market Tour and really enjoyed everything about it. It was really fun to pick out the fruits and vegetables at the Farmers Market and then see what meals the chefs could put together for us. All the food was great and there was plenty of it. The chefs at Burwells did an excellent... More

My husband and I went to Charleston for the first time last week, and this was the first thing we did when we arrived. It was a great way to get a feel for the city. Our guide Charley was a lot of fun. There was so much food on the tour that we ended up cancelling our dinner reservations... More

(Downtown). I'd bought this expecting a top notch session which would allow us a tasting of new, local flavours, prepared especially for us, and (as a first timer to Charleston) to learn a bit more about the city and it's culinary history. What we got was a nonchalant, slightly cocky guide and only one very good food offering; the rest... More

Our group visited 4 different restaurants. Two were excellent, one good and one while it wasn't terrific we were glad it was included in the tour cause it kept us from wasting time and money on a meal there later during our short stay. The guide was very knowledgeable, very courteous and eager to introduce our group to new and... More

My husband and I took this tour Monday, October 13th. Glenn was our guide. Our friends had taken this same Downtown tour last year also with Glenn and highly recommended it. We were not sorry!! Glenn was a wealth of information and very personable! Do NOT eat before you go because you will have more than enough food. We stopped... More

My two friends and I really enjoyed learning about the local food and foodie hotspots on the Downtown Culinary tour. And of course we also enjoyed eating those great foods while being told where it came from, how it was prepared, the history of some of the recipes, and actually having the chefs come out to talk with us. The... More

Hoon Calhoun was meant for this secondary career! He made our tour very fun and interesting with a mix of history and food. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. We toured several restaurant locations, sampled interesting and excellent food, heard about the history of the area mostly as it related to the culinary aspect and it was... More

We took the downtown tour with Glen, who really knows his stuff! This was strictly about FOOD, and not a walking historical tour, as we usually look for. We had she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes, pulled pork, roasted corn soup, beef filet that we cooked ourselves on a lava rock, yeast brownies, toll house pie and key lime pie. (Your... More
