The Charleston Culinary Tour now offers three culinary tours in downtown Charleston: the original Downtown Culinary Tour, the Upper King Street Culinary Tour and the Farmers Market Tour. All tours are a combination culinary and historical tour. The Downtown and Upper King Street tours stop at 3 downtown restaurants (plus dessert!) to sample appetizers and chefs' specialty dishes. The Farmers Market Tour allows you to meet some of the market's farmers, where we select some ingredients and then enjoy a true farm-to-table meal at one of our partner restaurants! All tours are fully narrated by a tour guide and guests will have an opportunity to meet the chefs, managers or proprietors at each stop. Downtown Culinary Tours start at 2:00 p.m and meet at the SouthEnd Brewery and Smokehouse at 161 East Bay Street. Upper King Street Culinary Tours start at 2:00 p.m. and meet at HoM Restaurant at 563 King Street. Farmers Market Tours start at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday the farmers market is open and meet outside the Charleston Visitors Center (375 Meeting Street) on the corner of Meeting and John Streets. We enjoyed the tour of Upper King but the guide was less than knowledgeable. He didn't seem to be too familiar with the area as a hole. The order of the restaurants was a litte strange as we started with appetizers then dessert followed by main course then appetizers. The restaurants were good but the information we received along the... More

My husband and I really enjoyed the culinary tour. I think it is a lot less tour and more of just eating a bunch of food. I liked our tour guide and I enjoyed the company of the other guests. Our group was very large for a Monday afternoon that they split us up in two tour groups. I thought... More

So I tried to sign up for the Historic District tour as that was the area where we were staying, but it had sold out. So, as a plan "B" I signed up for the Upper King tour, unsure about that part of Charleston, but wanting to take the Culinary Tour. It could not have turned out better. First off,... More

We did the north King Street tour with Suzan. We ate at 4 places and walked just over a mile. This is an interesting part of town that is just in recent years begun to revitalize. The pace of the tour is relaxed. Suzan shares a lot of Charleston history along the way. The food is superb and plentiful. This... More

Went on the Upper King Street tour and got a sampler of several different establishments that serve food. We spoke to only one chef at 5 loaves, any other questions regarding how things were made or ingredients were met with deer-in-the-headlights looks and "I just work here" type smiles. The food is good, Kyle made up for the lack of... More

So thankful that I chose to go on the Saturday morning Farmers Market Culinary Tour. The experience of picking out your own produce, and giving it to a chef to make something magical was wonderful! Glenn was our tour guide and he was so friendly, knowledgeable and honest. We were lucky enough to be able to enjoy the 8 course... More

We went on a tour of Upper(North) King Street which was touted as the "new" emerging chefs. We tried to get info on the restuarants beforehand but was told that the tour guide would let us know the day of the tour. We checked out the location of the listed restaurnats and saw there were a few in North King... More

This is truly a CULINARY tour that features thoughtful preparation and presentation of many low country foods. Our tour guide, Bill, was very knowledgeable and told many interesting stories about the history of Charleston. The other people in the tour (some locals) were delightful, because people can always share the love of good food. Yes, the highlight of the tour... More

Five friends came to Charleston for a week to celebrate our 20th anniversary of being friends and traveling together every year since we met in Dublin, Ireland. One of the best things we did was book the Charleston Culinary Tour. Oscar Hines was very accommodating and easy to work with. Our guide, Bill, was a retired history teacher who also... More

My family and I recently did the Farmers Market tour to celebrate our birthdays. I turned 28, my brother 32, and my Dad 60. There were 6 of us....and it was awesome! Everyone is so friendly and knowledgable. You can tell they love what they do. The food was incredible and satisfied all of us.I would highly recommend this to... More
