Excellent tour. It was the highlight of our trip to the South. History through food was facinating. Thanks for a wonderful time. Would recommend it highly

Saw this tour while searching the web for things to do in Charleston. As there are many activities one can engage in while in Charleston, a tour invoking food sounded like a good time. My wife and I were not disappointed. We chose to take the Downtown Tour and learned more about Charleston from a culinary point of view. Our... More

We started at the farmers' market and finished at Mamma's Boy on the North End. Ate picnic style fabulous food prepared from what we gathered at the market. Just a wonderful experience.

We met Glen, our guide at the Farmer's Market. He introduced us to the two chef's that would be preparing our meal - Jordan and Mark. We picked out our fresh vegetables, fruits and cheeses and browsed the other booths while the chef's took our produce back to the restaurant kitchen to start cooking. Glen led us on an easy... More

This was a food and historical tour combined. We stopped at 4 restaurants and had 2-4 items at each location. Since it started at 2:00 we didn't eat lunch beforehand, assuming we would get samples at each location and have dinner later. There was so much food we were more than full and skipped dinner. The tour was a good... More

We travel alot and are always faced with the dilemma of choosing a restaurant in a new city. Sifting through the hype, advertising, and frequent misdirection by hotel staff, cabbies, or friends. THIS IS THE SOLUTION. We did the upper King tour. I thought the serving sizes could have been a bit better for the price, but the overall experience... More

We chose Upper King Street Culinary Tour. I have nothing bad to say about the tour. Since our guide and his family have been a part of Charleston for generations, he was extremely informative in not only the food, and Restaurants all over the area, but he was incredibly informative when it came to the history of Charleston including its... We really enjoyed our tour through the market and selecting our fruits and vegetables for our meal. Our guide, Glenn, was full of interesting historical facts. Our chefs created a beautiful and savory meal. We loved the fresh juice, great soup, salad with a dressing that I wanted to purchase, and delicious main course and dessert. It was worth $65!... This tour was what I considered expensive at $50.00 per person. The web site also says to make sure that you eat since the food served is not enough for a meal. I beg to differ. No one wanted to eat dinner at the conclusion of this tour. Fran, our guide was born and raised in Charleston. She is also... More

Our guide,Guilds, did a fantastic job of weaving the history of Charleston into a superb "tasting" of some of Charleston's newer and less "discovered" restaurants. We enjoyed the walk, tastes from HOM, Lana, R-Kitchen, Sugar. Each member of my group will return to one or more of these establishments. I will do this again, and put it on my list... More
