The tour was great. We can't say enough about our guide Giles. We learned so much about Charleston from him and had great food as well. We highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Charleston and even if you live there it's well worth it

I had an absolutely WONDERFUL time! I enjoyed both tours; to Downtown and the next day Upper King Street. I was disappointed I could not go the Chef's Showcase at the Farmer's Market but my travel arrangements did not permit. The tours were GREAT and very informative and not only about the culinary history but the Charleston history in general.... More

My husband is not a foodie and even he loved this tour. Hoon Calhoun took us on a tour of 5 restaurants, starting with gourmet donuts (yes there really is a difference). It was wonderful being able or ask all kind of questions and get insight into how food places operate. Fascinating how food really gets to the table and... More

We recently took the Upper King Street Culinary Tour. It was sold out with 15 people, which is a nice size group. Our guide was very friendly and well versed in the culinary culture of Charleston. We visited 4 restaurants and were served several items at each. All of the food was excellent! My only criticism was that much of... More

We were lead by Hoon Calhoun on our Upper King culinary tour and it could not have been better! Hoon is an AMAZING guide. He has a knack for storytelling - making the history of Charleston so incredibly interesting! Oh, and the food?? Fantastic! We went to three restaurants and a bakery. A great introduction to the Charleston culinary scene.... More

Our afternoon tour began at South End Brewery and Smokehouse where glasses of Imperial Bourbon Brown beer awaited us. The first course was She Crab soup which is made with blue crab, roe, cream and sherry. Next came fried green tomatoes on pimento cheese. Pulled pork with two sauces completed the very delicious offerings at our first restaurant. As we... More

We go to Charleston all the time, living only 90 miles away, but have never taken the culinary tour. It was great. We took the Upper King Tour, had plenty of food, learned a lot and met some very nice people from several different states. I highly recommend this tour to first time visitors or regulars. Kudos to our guide,... More

My partner and I have been on food tours all over the world. This tour really stands out. We went on the Upper King Street tour with Guilds who was trying out a few new stops for the tour that day. First of all, Guilds has been doing this for a while and has such a great feel for the... More

We enjoyed a really great "Upper King Street Tour" with Charley. We visited 4 restaurants in the area, she is quite knowledgeable of all the goings on around the area. Learned about places that we probably wouldn't have thought about going too and quite a bit of Charleston history. I wouldn't recommend lunch before the afternoon tour, you don't eat... More

Best best tour featuring up-coming chefs & great food shops. Hoon Calhoun gave the best history on S.C. Could talk to him all afternoon and learn so much. Best time. Thanks, Hoon.
