You don't have to be into pirates to enjoy this tour. Eric and Bob take you on a great trip thru the city. Sights and story's along the way are a bonus to a great time. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. But most of all be prepared to have fun.

Eric Lavender is a most entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide, and local historian. He is mindful of the keeping all ages engaged as well as setting a comfortable walking pace. Eric made my visit to Charleston, SC much more interesting. He provided facts along with cultural spice and local folklore. The tour was fun and I kept expecting to see... More

My 8 year old and her grandmother went on the regular tour. Both really enjoyed it and came back with lots of interesting anecdotes about Charleston's pirate past. There is a lot of walking on cobbled streets so of you are not steady on your feet this is not the tour for you. I took my 4 and 6 year... More

If you're interested in pirates, this is the tour for you. However, if a 2 hour lecture on pirates isn't up your alley, then skip it. We found the guide, Eric, to be pleasant and interesting. Unfortunately, we didn't get the tour we expected- we thought it'd be a tour of Charleston with emphasis on pirate lore/history. Nope. There was... More

Sorry you "didn't get the tour you expected," but we are very specific in marketing our tours. Yes, our daytime pirate history tour is about Charleston's pirate history. As for keeping young kids interested... while we do get young children on the 2-hour tour, and most do fine, as you can see from dozens of other reviews, we do have... More

We have four kids (7-14) and this was a great way to introduce them to this amazing city. There were three families on the tour and which was a perfect size and Eric kept everyone engaged. The only reason I did not give a 5 is because while we saw a lot of the downtown and it was entertaining and... More

We took our three year old and five year old and they loved the search for treasure around the park. Sabrina, our pirate leader, was appealing to the kids and make the adults laugh.

My family went on Eric’s tour on March 11th and it was absolutely wonderful! We had been on a few tours prior to this one and this tour was by far the most informative and fun! I will recommend you to everyone I know! You could tell that it wasn’t just a rehearsed bunch of jargon and that Eric had... More

The Charleston's Pirate Tour was very entertaining and informative. I have to admit that I thought it might be a little cheesy but it was anything but. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend it.

My 18 year old daughter and I visited Charleston and were looking for a fun way to familiarize ourselves with the history of the city - what better way than a walking tour with a pirate?! Sabrina was our guide and met us in full pirate regalia not long after sunset. Her knowledge of the pirate history of Charleston was... More

If you have time to do one walking tour, then definitely take this tour and may be surprised to learn how much the Charleston economy depended on pirates. On the day of our tour, we were the only ones and felt special to have our very own pirate in full dress walk us through Charleston history and was thinking how... More
