We reserved for the 4 hour double kayak rental, and it was a great experience. All the equipment were kept in excellent condition, and the staff were very thorough in tips and instructions. We ended up tapping out after 1.5 hrs; kayaking against the current and wind turned out to be pretty challenging for us first timers. Even if you've... More

Morris Island has so much history with the Morris Island Lighthouse and its battle history during the Civil War. Captain Derrick was familiar with the island history and his knowledge of the estuary and its inhabitants was outstanding. We were fortunate enough to view more than 12 Atlantic Bottle Nose Dolphins, multiple birds, and a Bonnet Shark during our trip... More

WOW. Our guide for a 2-hr kayak trip was great. Nick was awesome... a wealth of information, had a background in science/biology so he knew his stuff. Was like taking a "fun" college course in nature and the estuaries of the LowCountry. Paddling our sit-in kayaks was a pleasure, he did not over work us and we took several breaks... More

I went on the Morris Island Eco Lighthouse Tour in May 2015 and it was absolutely amazing. Our Captain was really nice and very passionate about educating us about the ecology of estuaries. He took the time to find us dolphins to view up close and dropped us off on a beach to collect sand dollars. I highly recommend Charleston... More

Trip was AMAZING. I've never seen that many Dolphins before. Derek was an awesome tour guide. He made sure he turned the boat right towards the Dolphins and didn't mind going out of the way to see them. We got super close to a few! We also saw a loggerhead turtle. The tour was packed full of information. Best part... More

We've been visiting the Charleston area for decades and thought we had seen and done it all. On a whim, we tried the COA sunset kayak cruise just behind Folly Beach and could not have had more fun. It was easy to get to, the equipment was great, and our guides were knowledgeable and personable. We had dolphins swimming beside... More

We did two outings with COA during our family vacation. On the first trip we took a dolphin cruise with our three year old grandson. Our captain was Tripp. We made sure to go on the first cruise so that is was the coolest part of the day. We saw dozens of dolphins on the tour as well as a... More

Derek was our captain for our sunset dolphin tour. It was wonderful. We saw dolphins from minutes into the trip until the very end. Derek was super knowledgable about the area and gave us lots of wonderful information. We were really hoping to get back and do a kayak tour, but ran out of time in our trip, but that... More

My family of four including two teens took the three hour kayaking tour with our guide Jordan. After a brief intro to kayaking, we got right into the water. Jordan was a wealth of information on all things estuary! The pace was perfect for our group of six. You can choose to stay close to your guide to hear all... More

Captain Derek led us through the estuaries and out to Morris Island. We learned so much about the marshes, pluff mud and all of the in and out currents and how nature works together. We saw so many dolphins and Derek was always willing to turn the boat if he thought we could get a better look. His knowledge was... More
