There are so many carriage ride companies in Charleston but got a free coupon from my hotel booking and went online to get another discount for more tickets. Better savings yet than the online discount was to buy our tickets at the visitor's center! Had a beautiful horse "Carolina" that had a mind of her own…..am sure these horses are... More

Although we were jammed 4 wide in the carriage seats, the tour guide was extremely entertaining and informative and made the hour long tour well worth it.

I can't say enough to people how much I enjoyed this carriage ride! What a huge delight it was to finally take a carriage tour! I attended the College of Charleston a while back and never took any tour of any kind here in Charleston. I just recently moved back from LA, CA to Charleston and decided to take a... More

It was a nice way to see such a quick overview of the city. The price can quickly add up, but you could tell a lot of care goes into taking care of the horses. There are different routes, but your route is randomly given to the driver by the City when the tour leaves. We were lucky to get... More

I have been on multiple carriage rides in charleston, but this was the first one that didn't go by a single historic site. The route taken was in a nice little neighborhood on the other side of town, and there were absolutely no history told. None. Lots of stories about the horse. One about banners on hoses protesting cruise ships.... More

When your time is limited the carriage ride is a good way to see a lot of the cities interesting attractions however because it carriages are limited in the areas they can go into and how many carriages can be in one area at the same time you might missed some attractions that other see From photographers prospective unless you're... This horse drawn tour was included in our hotel package. It was an excellent surprise. The knowledgable guide taking us slowly through amazing historic area was enjoyable and educational. I was not aware of how many significant historic homes have been preserved

The private carriage tour is not cheap--$150 for 3 people (the standards tours are $25 per person)--but it is exactly what it should be, namely a charming review of some of the city's architecture.
