It was a nice way to see such a quick overview of the city. The price can quickly add up, but you could tell a lot of care goes into taking care of the horses. There are different routes, but your route is randomly given to the driver by the City when the tour leaves. We were lucky to get... More

I have been on multiple carriage rides in charleston, but this was the first one that didn't go by a single historic site. The route taken was in a nice little neighborhood on the other side of town, and there were absolutely no history told. None. Lots of stories about the horse. One about banners on hoses protesting cruise ships.... More

This horse drawn tour was included in our hotel package. It was an excellent surprise. The knowledgable guide taking us slowly through amazing historic area was enjoyable and educational. I was not aware of how many significant historic homes have been preserved

The private carriage tour is not cheap--$150 for 3 people (the standards tours are $25 per person)--but it is exactly what it should be, namely a charming review of some of the city's architecture.

We paid top dollar, $150, for a one hour private tour. Barely got 45 minutes and were treated with over the top rudeness by the proprietor, Bob, when we brought this to his attention. Steer clear of this rip off.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the length of your tour. We took our carriage ride with Greg. He is a local history teacher and does guides on the weekends. He was a font of information, takes questions and is generally a funny guy. I suggest you ride first thing in the morning on the weekends. The traffic is very light and most of the tourist are still in bed or... More

A lovely way to get to see and hear about the rich history of Charleston and it's gilded past. Wish they had longer, more inclusive tours…..

I enjoyed the carriage ride through several different parts of town. The driver was knowledgeable and pleasant.about a 45-minute wait time. Reasonably priced.

This is a great way to see a lot of the Charleston sites in an hour. We were lucky that we got the tour of rainbow row, the battery and the residential area. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable and had a passion for horses and the city which really showed. She was able to answer all of our questions.... More
