Owner description: Old Charleston Walking Tours is proud to offer an array of narrated walks that cover the most interesting historical issues and sights in a city known for its turbulent past and unusual beauty. Our guides are the best in the business, with years of research and storytelling experience. They promise the kind of accuracy, insight and enthusiasm that create a delightful touring experience. Let them lead you to Charleston's hidden alleys and tell you what went on behind its closed doors. The daytime walks last approximately two hours. The ghost walks are shorter (and scarier). We go rain or shine. There are no hills. The pace is easy. Please join us. You'll be glad you did!

Our only regret about this tour was that it didn't last all day. Denny Stiles is professional, knowledgeable, affable, and un-stumpable--there was no question he couldn't answer thoroughly. You get the sense that he really loves and respects history. Denny is also really nice, engaging directly with each member of our six-person group. Of course our group was pretty fantastic,... More

I love ghost tours and is always on my list of Must do's when traveling to a historical town or city. Our guide was Mike and we took the 9:30 tour. With over 16 years experience leading these types of tours you can tell he is passionate about his work. The walk was easy. He had some wonderful spooky stories about... More

We spent our last night in Charleston on the haunted walking tour. I could not have asked for a better way to spend our last night in Charleston. It was a little chilly, there was fog covering the city and we were super creeped out on our 7:30pm tour. It was also super historical and fascinating. I've been on dozens... More

This was the highlight of our visit to Charleston. The guide was amazing- informative about the history, politics, economy, nature and architecture of Old Charleston area and he answered all our questions and explained things very well. It brought the history of Charleston to life. My husband has a disability but it was a leisurely walk and although he was... More

Took my mom on the house and home tour for something different when she came into town. The tour was great! The guide had so much knowledge and was very friendly. They take you through some great areas and the length is perfect. We had such a great time, we are going to try the ghost tour next. Can't wait!!!

We visited Charleston in July and have nothing but good things to say about the History & Homes tour. Our guide, Dennis, was very knowledgeable and easy to follow/understand. Make sure to purchase tickets on their website to receive $3 off. Very highly recommended!

The tour was good, stories were interesting, but there were not as many as we've heard on other ghost tours. The tour was just under 1 1/2 hours long. Mike tells the stories well.

I've lived here my whole life, and so when some family friends came into town wanting a ghost tour and I decided to go with them, I honestly I wasn't expecting to have such a wonderful time. The way in which Mark Brown told the stories, his voice and pitch changes accompanied by vivid descriptions and spooky backdrops left you... More

We took the Ghost Tour with Michael E. Brown on Oct. 30th and were very disappointed. If you want exciting, this is NOT the tour to take. All he did was walk us to a building and tell us a ghost story; then walk to another building and tell us another boring ghost story. There was nothing special about it.... More

I am sorry that you did not enjoy the tour. As you noted, your reaction was the exact opposite of the vast majority of those who have reviewed my ghost tour. I would encourage anyone reading this to take that into consideration when reading this review. Mike Brown More
