Owner description: Old Charleston Walking Tours is proud to offer an array of narrated walks that cover the most interesting historical issues and sights in a city known for its turbulent past and unusual beauty. Our guides are the best in the business, with years of research and storytelling experience. They promise the kind of accuracy, insight and enthusiasm that create a delightful touring experience. Let them lead you to Charleston's hidden alleys and tell you what went on behind its closed doors. The daytime walks last approximately two hours. The ghost walks are shorter (and scarier). We go rain or shine. There are no hills. The pace is easy. Please join us. You'll be glad you did!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon in Charleston where we took part in one of Michael Brown's walking ghost tours. My husband is a history major and I love ghost stories so this was perfect for us. I have to admit - we were a tad skeptical - mostly because we're 20-something's and didn't want to be... More

Fantastic ghost tour around Charleston. Loaded with interesting history, and a perfect balance of spooky stories and comic relief. His delivery of the stories was positively captivating and kept us wanting more!

I purchased a groupon ticket to attend the ghost tour with my husband. Mike Brown the guide did an excellent job. He shared people's experiences & encounters with ghosts and then historical facts that back these events & occurrences. He also shared fun facts about the city which I would have never known. Very well organized & informative. I would... More

Really enjoyed this walking tour yesterday. Dennis Stiles was our guide and did a great job. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Charleston and events leading up to and during the war as well as being entertaining. He answered all questions on architecture and pointed out examples we passed. Highly recommend this tour by Dennis.

Our only regret about this tour was that it didn't last all day. Denny Stiles is professional, knowledgeable, affable, and un-stumpable--there was no question he couldn't answer thoroughly. You get the sense that he really loves and respects history. Denny is also really nice, engaging directly with each member of our six-person group. Of course our group was pretty fantastic,... More

We spent our last night in Charleston on the haunted walking tour. I could not have asked for a better way to spend our last night in Charleston. It was a little chilly, there was fog covering the city and we were super creeped out on our 7:30pm tour. It was also super historical and fascinating. I've been on dozens... More

This was the highlight of our visit to Charleston. The guide was amazing- informative about the history, politics, economy, nature and architecture of Old Charleston area and he answered all our questions and explained things very well. It brought the history of Charleston to life. My husband has a disability but it was a leisurely walk and although he was... More

Took my mom on the house and home tour for something different when she came into town. The tour was great! The guide had so much knowledge and was very friendly. They take you through some great areas and the length is perfect. We had such a great time, we are going to try the ghost tour next. Can't wait!!!

We visited Charleston in July and have nothing but good things to say about the History & Homes tour. Our guide, Dennis, was very knowledgeable and easy to follow/understand. Make sure to purchase tickets on their website to receive $3 off. Very highly recommended!
