Description: Old Charleston Walking Tours is proud to offer an array of narrated walks...
Old Charleston Walking Tours is proud to offer an array of narrated walks that cover the most interesting historical issues and sights in a city known for its turbulent past and unusual beauty. Our guides are the best in the business, with years of research and storytelling experience. They promise the kind of accuracy, insight and enthusiasm that create a delightful touring experience. Let them lead you to Charleston's hidden alleys and tell you what went on behind its closed doors. The daytime walks last approximately two hours. The ghost walks are shorter (and scarier). We go rain or shine. There are no hills. The pace is easy. Please join us. You'll be glad you did!

We enjoyed a late night ghost tour with Mike. It just so happened to be during a thunderstorm, which definitely added to the effect of Mike's excellent stories! Even though much of the tour group did not show up (it is held rain or shine), he was willing to do the tour and we were hanging on to his every... More

Signed up for the homes and history tour, and felt like we struck gold with Denny. He was interesting and engaging the entire 3 hours. Did a great job to make sure we stopped in shaded areas and air conditioned buildings to help us survive the oppressive heat. He has a love and interest for Charleston that is contagious. Only... Mike Brown is a fantastic tour guide, and one of the best storytellers I've ever encountered. We called to see if he could squeeze the 7 of us in while we were in Charleston, and despite being sold out Mike was able to arrange a second group for the Tuesday night tour and accommodate us. I only wish we had... More

Firstly, let me start by saying that I do not like reality TV, but especially do not like ghost hunting reality TV. However, we booked this tour anyway for my 11 year old who was on vacation with us. From the beginning of the tour to the end I was hanging on every word from the tour guide's mouth. Mike... More

We had Mike as our tour guide. We did the 7:30 tour because the later one was sold out on the day we were able to go. Mike did a nice job. At the beginning it felt a little long winded, I wanted to get on with the tour already but I get that he was setting the stage for... More

Mike Brown conducted this tour and he is a phenomenal story teller. There were people of all ages on the tour and Mike has truly done his research to ferret out the "facts" or at least theories behind the history of each sightings. I appreciated the fact that we didn't go into any creepy, scary buildings and nothing jumped out... More

We did the 9:30 ghost tour with our 12 & 14 yr old kids. (Nobody else brought kids along on this.) It was a great blend between creepy and educational. Most of the stories are rooted in history, so we learned a lot about Charleston along the way. This was my first ghost tour of any kind, so I have... More

WOW! I cannot believe how amazing this "History and Homes" tour of Charleston was. Dennis, our tour guide was simply amazing! He captivated the entire family in 105 degree heat. I was the oldest, 40 yrs. in the group, my wife same age, and 4 kids - oldest 12 and youngest 6. THey were all amazed at how Dennis made... More

This walking tour was a perfect choice for our first visit to Charleston. Our guide, Dennis Stiles, was a real live encyclopedia of the city and the families that built it. He not only answered every question we asked but had so much more information to add. Before the tour begins Dennis will ask what you are interested in and... More
