Description: Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative...
Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

I did my homework prior to our visit to Charleston and came across numerous walking tours to choose from. I read numerous ones and many on Michael before deciding. This was my top and only choice. I made reservations in advance (2 weeks) with his email confirmation. Not disappointed as we opted for the morning tour to avoid some of... More

After getting into Charleston the previous evening, we were looking forward to getting acquainted with the city. Michael's tour was a great start to the vacation and led us through the heart of the historic district with the expertise that only a multi-generation Charlestonian would have. We thoroughly enjoyed his tour and came back to some of the landmarks later... More

All of the reports about this amazing tour are true. Michael is a former actor and he entertains the group, whilst providing a stream of fascinating information. The two hours shot by and we were left wanting to hear more from this consummate professional. You will not find better value for money on any other experience. Thank you Michael for... More

Michael has a ton of knowledge of the city and a fun personality to match. This wAs the first activity we did on our trip, we saw many things that were listed in top ten things to do. Glad we did this first, as it crossed many items off the list allowing more beach time.

Great walking tour of historic Charleston by a native 'friendly'. Great information and history as well as personality told by a native Charlestonian speaker who obviously cares about his city.

This is a perfect way to see the historic section on Charleston! And, Michael Trouche is your "perfect guide!" Our group of approx. 18 people, walked around the historic area, listening to both amazing and entertaining stories about Charleston, past and present. Michael is a gifted story-teller, bringing to life the many stories of Charleston's heritage and history. There was... More

Michael is simply superb. Multi-generation Charleston family, 9 years as tour leader, he has a professional stage voice and delivery, and knows knows knows the history. In 103 degree heat, we pushed through a wonderful two hour tour---and he didn't skip a beat. Highly highly recommend! Book early.

As a 7th (or was it 8th?) generation Charlestonian, Michael knows the Holy City better than anyone. The amount of details he imparted to us, and the places he took us painted such a lovely picture of this fascinating place. As an added bonus, he goes to the effort to know the names of everyone in the group. And he... More

Michael's walking tour was outstanding. He is a well informed native with a love of languages & a wealth of local lore, facts & stories. He covers an enormous amount of meaningful information while adding local color to the places he introduces to the tour participants. We will recommend his tour to anyone we know with plans to visit Charleston.

Michael's tour was awesome! I highly recommend taking his walking tour as he pointed out so many interesting facts about the architecture and why certain materials were used. He has a great sense of humor as well. I totally enjoyed the tour!
