Description: Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative...
Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

This was an informative and enjoyable way to see Charleston. The guide Michael grew up in Charleston and we even saw the house he grew up in. He is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and he made it a great experience. We are very glad we decided to take this tour.

We chose to tour with Michael because of the great reviews. He did not disappoint. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. You cover a lot of Charleston's favorite landmarks and plenty of " local" only ones as well. This tour is well worth the money and your time. We join the long list of rave reviewers.

This was well worth our investment in both time & money. Michael was personable & knowledgeable, the adults in our group as well as my 9 & 13 year old kids all felt this was a worthwhile memory to add to our southern excursion.

A wonderful way to start a first time visit to Charleston. The guide, Michael, took a small group of us to the highlights of the historical district, telling us intersting facts about the city in a very lively and enthusiastic manner. We were not bored for a mminute during the fast paced 2 hour walk. Highly reccomend it.

Upon arriving in Charleston, the first thing my teenaged son and I did was take Michael's thoroughly engaging and informative 2 hour tour of the city's oh so charming historic district. Michael infuses his history lesson with personal anecdotes, childhood memories and a well worn familiarity with the area's character and characters (from Honey Boy the cocker spaniel who trotted... Michael's tour is very informative, interesting and colorful. In two hours you feel like an insider with his insights, personal history and people skills. Do this tour first and then go back to fill in your own details. Take his recommendations seriously and you will have a delightful Charleston experience. Worth the tour at twice the price!
