Description: Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative...
Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

My wife and I took this walking tour of Charleston. Michael Trouche was an oustanding guide. He took us to very interesting spots in the city, told us great stories about the places. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Charleston, especially for the first time. Take the tour at the beginning of your visit to the city. You will... More

If you are searching for a walking tour of Charleston, please save yourself time and book Michael's tour. It is the perfect start to a visit to Charleston. We did the tour with Michael on a very hot May afternoon, but regardless of the heat, thoroughly enjoyed our time learning about historical Charleston. He was very considerate about finding shade, and being 7 months pregnant, offered to let me sit or use the restroom if needed during the walk. He does a great mixture of historical and contemporary... More

We found out about this walking tour through Trip Advisor and it was superb, just as rated by many reviewers. You will learn so much more about Charleston, since MIchael is a native and appears to be passionate about the city and his tours. The tour is laced with humor and Michael engages in conversation with the tour participants. It... More

Michael did a great job in covering a lot of ground and a lot of info. He is very knowledgable, speaks loud enough for all to hear, and walks at an efficient pace to cover a lot of territory. Our family thoroughly enjoyed it.

Michael's knowledge of Charleston is extensive and his highly entertaining style is enriched by his personal reminiscences of growing up in that part of Charleston. Inspite of steady drizzle throughout our walk, Michael's enthusiasm was undiminished and we certainly had our money's worth!
