Description: Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative...
Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

Our guide Michael Trouche, was deeply knowledgable, animated, and entertaining. Being a sixth generation Charlestonian and an actor, Michael combines historical facts with personal stories, making two hours in the hot sun, fly by.

Michael gave a great tour and showed us many interesting things around Charleston. The tour runs for 2 hours and costs $20, we thought it was great value. Michael makes the effort to learn and remember everyones names and shows that true southern hospitality. A great way to learn about the city!!

We had a tour with Michael, who is Charleston Footprints, and a few days later we had a walking tour of Savannah; this gave us something to compare to. Michael was by far the better. He packs in so much information and he takes the time to know each person on his tour, even calling you by name. He is... More

Michael had a great personality. Combined everything into one - Architecture, building materials, founding fathers, plants & animals, language & accents. Communicated great enthusiasm for his home town. I would go on this tour a second time.

Great Tour. Michael is a fantastic guide. He knows so much about Charleston. The tour sees all the main parts of the downtown and harbor. He engages the participants with questions, remembers everyone's name and is very pleasant. He even set his watch to remind us we had to leave the tour before the others because we had a business... Michael was wonderful: energetic, informative and entertaining. Our 2 hour tour was a great introduction to Charleston history. We enjoyed learning about the architecture, culture and history of The Holy City. Lots of great photo opportunities. We saw several streets we never would have ventured to on our own. We definitely recommend seeing the city this way!! We highly recommend... More

We decided to do this last minute and Michael was fantastic. You could tell how much he loved Charleston and knew everything you needed to know. So many great little facts, and showing us things we would have otherwise missed. We were only in Charleston for a day, and this was a great couple of hours to find out the... More

Book this tour! Absolutely fantastic experience. Michael is a 7th generation local and full of facts that will make you appreciate Charleston's history, plants, culture and creatures. He waves to local friends, recites scientific names and origins of many of the plants, points out the small 100 year old history remnants you would normally walk by and even includes how... More
