Hi, my name is Brian Simms. My family has been in the area for 10 generations. Charleston Sole offers two types of tours. Our All About Charleston tour features history, culture and the architecture of the area. Our Houses of Worship tour concentrates on the many backgrounds who settled the "Holy City" and the history of the beautiful stone carvings and symbolism behind many famous Charlestonian graves. We do enter a few structures during our tour. There is a rich history and culture I would like to share and look forward to showing you the sights of our beautiful city, creating an experience you will remember for years to come!

As a homeschool mom who has a traveling school room with 3 children, we have taken walking tours of all types in over 8 countries and many US States. This morning we were booked with a different company but missed that tour because of bad directions. Finn at Charleston Sole took us in and we were so impressed. Knowledgeable, kind,... More

We took the 2 hour History, Culture and Architecture tour and loved it. Our guide, Fin, is clearly passionate about this city and its history and communicates this very effectively. We learned so much - he is a very thoughtful educator and engaged with all of us on the tour about our own interests and insights. Totally worth it! (He... More

Well. Charleston was very hot and humid the day we went on the 2 hour tour. Brian was very informative and asked what kinds of things everyone was most interested in. We walked around the historic district of Charleston. The tour actually lasted about 2.5 hours. Which would be great except for the heat and that we felt we were... More

Susie and I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful morning tour of Charleston. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We particularly loved your knowledge of key historical figures, such as Washington, and their ties to Charleston. It’s always fun to be with someone who clearly loves what he does and is so enthusiastic about sharing it with others. After the... More

Such a good trip that my wife and I took yesterday, all the way back to the early 1700's! It's obvious Fin loves history and his adopted city both. What a great educator and guide. We would've paid to take the same tour again. You won't go wrong.

I had an amazing time yesterday with Finn at Charleston Sole Walking tour! I have been on many tours in Charleston and Finn had knowledge of many, many facts I have never told in an interesting and attention getting way as we "journeyed" through the historical streets of old Charleston. I also noted how attentive he was to his group,... More

We took a walking tour with Fin and thoroughly enjoyed his insights and information. Fin worked hard to provide answers to all questions and give all tour members the opportunity to see all that was being shown. I highly recommend this tour to anyone arriving in Charleston!

Brian met us on time and gave us a delightful tour of the historic district. In fact, our tour went over the time advertised with all the information he shared. I have always found this type of tour the best way to learn about an area. There was a woman with a stroller on the tour, and he was very... More

Fin, our guide, took us on an adventure, walking thru the history of Charleston. He was informative and entertaining. A lot of information; not too much walking.

This was our first visit to Charleston. With our three sons (10, 8, and 4) in tow, we knew we would not have much opportunity to explore the "grown-up" charms of the city. Brian's walking tour was the perfect solution. He gave us a good overview of the area, fed us all kinds of interesting historical tidbits, and even managed... More
