Hi, my name is Brian Simms. My family has been in the area for 10 generations. Charleston Sole offers two types of tours. Our All About Charleston tour features history, culture and the architecture of the area. Our Houses of Worship tour concentrates on the many backgrounds who settled the "Holy City" and the history of the beautiful stone carvings and symbolism behind many famous Charlestonian graves. We do enter a few structures during our tour. There is a rich history and culture I would like to share and look forward to showing you the sights of our beautiful city, creating an experience you will remember for years to come!

My 14 year old niece and I were in Charleston for two days. She is quite a history buff. We decided to take this tour rather than wandering aimlessly around the city. That was a GREAT decision on our part. It must have been at least 97 degrees the day we went. Brian was very mindful of the heat and... More

Brian was very informative. Very happy that I chose this tour. Brian even remembered me a few days later when I ran into him and another tour group.

Despite the heat, Finn made it a very enjoyable tour. It didn't seem like we walked very far - the walking was very manageable. I enjoyed the details that you don't read about in history books.

My friend and I were in town for a girls' weekend. We were looking to do something informative but not long. This was perfect!!! Fin was a great tour guide- he was very knowledgable and has such passion for his job. He also makes it a point to ensure his guests are in the shade whenever possible. We had a... More

Very informative. Our guide obviously loves to study history. It was very hot and he was sensitive to that, always trying to talk in the shade. I would recommend it.

Chose this tour based on the reviews. Fin was our tour guide. He is a retired history teacher and principal of 30 years. I'm really not a history fan but was interested in the architecture and wanted to learn more about the history of the city. Within the first 15 minutes, he tells history as a story and you continue... More

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was very knowledgable about the history of the city. He was passionate about the city and his passion came through. It was an unbearably hot day, but we were kept in the shade on our walk as much as possible. We had two stops inside to cool off and have a restroom break.... More

Had a very informative tour given by Fin. He has a passion for the history of the city & is willing to share his knowledge. He made some interesting points about the buildings, how the city was created and was able to answer all of our questions. Would love to come back, take a private tour and expand on what... More

We've been coming to Charleston for decades and this is the best walking tour we've ever been a part of. Finn was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and made our tour a living history lesson. Highly recommend!!

Brian makes your time on the tour count! Every stride is full of off the beaten path stories. He loves Charleston and you will by the time the tour is over
