I will guide you on a memorable two-hour walking tour that includes an introduction to some of our most celebrated landmarks and hidden treasures that make this such a special place to visit. We will start at the Old Exchange Building (Charleston's Independence Hall) then stroll through the streets of Charleston. Just a few of the sites covered are St. Michael’s Church: the oldest church edifice in Charleston, Four Corners of Law: referenced in Ripley’s “Believe It or Not”, Rainbow Row: multi-colored residences today, was once the center of the waterfront economy, Antebellum Mansions: see the grandeur and beauty of these pre-Civil War homes, Historic Waterfront Battery: named for the entrenchments and bastions once protecting the holy city, Revolutionary and Civil Wars: overall history and sites that defined these battles for independence and state rights. There is a rich history and culture I would like to share and look forward to showing you the sights of our beautiful city, creating an experience you will remember for years to come! « less

My husband and I recently visited Charleston during our week-long stay in SC and decided to take the Charleston Sole Walking Tour to really embrace the city of Charleston and its rich history. Brian Simms was our guide and was nothing short of impressive! The guy is a fountain of information and keeps his historical explanations and anecdotes simple and... More

My friends and I experienced the Charleston Sole Walking Tour this Saturday as part of a "Girl's Weekend". I have been to Charleston many times, but had never taken a walking tour. Finn was our tour guide and he was wonderful! As a teacher who has taught U.S. history to elementary children for twenty years, I thought I knew a... More

My wife and I just got back from Charleston. It was our first time there and we were especially excited to be able to dive into the history of the location. Being a history teacher, I feel that I hold a pretty high standard in terms of expectations for what a historical tour should include. Brian did an absolutely fantastic... More

My husband and I went to Charleston for our anniversary. My husband had never been to Charleston so we decided to do a walking tour. Our travel guide was actually a energetic retired history teacher. He was full of knowledge about the events of Charleston and gave a lot of information about a lot of the architecture as well. Lots... More

We had a wonderful time on the walking tour. Brian knows his stuff and is full of knowledge on the history of Charleston. I know he has given this tour hundreds of times, but he is still enthusiastic and he understood that many of us were experiencing the tour for the first time. If you come to Charleston, take this... I have been on many walking tours and this one is by far superior. Finn, our tour guide, is extremely knowledgeable and open to questions. His professionalism and authentic love of Charleston history makes him the perfect guide. When in Charleston I would make this a top choice of things to do.

Brian was a terrific tour guide during our walking tour of Charleston. We arrived as a group of 20 on a family reunion, with ages ranging from 15 to 83. Brian was very informative and flexible, depending on what we were interested in. Highly recommend Brian's Sole Walking Tour of Charleston.
