Hi, my name is Brian Simms. My family has been in the area for 10 generations. Charleston Sole offers two types of tours. Our All About Charleston tour features history, culture and the architecture of the area. Our Houses of Worship tour concentrates on the many backgrounds who settled the "Holy City" and the history of the beautiful stone carvings and symbolism behind many famous Charlestonian graves. We do enter a few structures during our tour. There is a rich history and culture I would like to share and look forward to showing you the sights of our beautiful city, creating an experience you will remember for years to come!

I had an amazing time yesterday with Finn at Charleston Sole Walking tour! I have been on many tours in Charleston and Finn had knowledge of many, many facts I have never told in an interesting and attention getting way as we "journeyed" through the historical streets of old Charleston. I also noted how attentive he was to his group,... More

We took a walking tour with Fin and thoroughly enjoyed his insights and information. Fin worked hard to provide answers to all questions and give all tour members the opportunity to see all that was being shown. I highly recommend this tour to anyone arriving in Charleston!

Brian met us on time and gave us a delightful tour of the historic district. In fact, our tour went over the time advertised with all the information he shared. I have always found this type of tour the best way to learn about an area. There was a woman with a stroller on the tour, and he was very... More

Fin, our guide, took us on an adventure, walking thru the history of Charleston. He was informative and entertaining. A lot of information; not too much walking.

This was our first visit to Charleston. With our three sons (10, 8, and 4) in tow, we knew we would not have much opportunity to explore the "grown-up" charms of the city. Brian's walking tour was the perfect solution. He gave us a good overview of the area, fed us all kinds of interesting historical tidbits, and even managed... More

We knew nothing about walking tours in Charleston, and we were so fortunate to have chosen Brian. He is truly an expert on the history, and he shared it in such a manner that all ages could enjoy. He was extremely personal, and we can't wait to return to Charleston to have tour #2!! We fell in love with the... More

Fin was a great guide! He was engaging and enthusiastic to share Charleston's history. This should be the fist thing you do upon arrival to appreciate the rest of your visit.

I had been to Charleston many times in the past, but had never really taken a tour of the historic area. I am SO GLAD we went with Charleston Sole vs the other touring companies!!! Brian was an excellent guide, the pace was absolutely perfect (not too fast, not too slow) and I learned SOOO MUCH! An excellent two hours!!

My aunt and I joined Brian's tour last week. He was very open to questions from the group and did a nice job of tying the timeline of events in Charleston to events in the northeast (people on the tour were from Boston, Philadelphia and Connecticut). We were able to enter two churches during the tour and for the places... More

I loved the tour with Brian. He has an extensive and deep knowledge and a great love of the city. For a great insight to the growth and varied characters that made Charleston into the beautiful and interesting locale that is evident today, Brian is the man. Our tour took quite a while because, while he covers all the basics,... More
