Hi, my name is Brian Simms. My family has been in the area for 10 generations. Charleston Sole offers two types of tours. Our All About Charleston tour features history, culture and the architecture of the area. Our Houses of Worship tour concentrates on the many backgrounds who settled the "Holy City" and the history of the beautiful stone carvings and symbolism behind many famous Charlestonian graves. We do enter a few structures during our tour. There is a rich history and culture I would like to share and look forward to showing you the sights of our beautiful city, creating an experience you will remember for years to come!

We visited Charleston with a total of 9 in our family ranging in age from 6 to 68. Brian was very accommodating, friendly, and considerate. He provided several air conditioned stops and was concerned about the safety and comfort of the group throughout the tour. His knowledge of the area is amazing and provided many interesting stories to keep the... More

the hotel told us that the only historical walking tour we should take is with Charleston Sole. we waited to book with them and Brian did not disappoint. the 2 hour tour took 2 hours and 30 minutes but it felt like an hour. the amount of sites we covered and the information that Brian gave to use was incredible.... Our family of 6 did a private tour with Fin as guide. First great value -- tour was booked for 2 hours but went on for another 45 mins. Was done at a great pace with every opportunity for questions and conversation off script. Fin was a great guide - a retired history teacher - and he a made Charleston... More

Hi Our family of 6 did a private tour today with Fin as guide. Great value - tour booked for 2 hours but we squeezed in another 45 mins. Finn took us on a 2+ hour walking tour of the historic district of Charleston. He clearly loved his city and had lots of interesting details to share. He answered everyone's questions and even knew which shady spots to stop in to give explanations. It was extremely hot so that was greatly appreciated. This tour allowed us to get lots... More

Finn was our tour guide and instead of just giving us a tour. He described it as a journey and it truly was. He was great with our group and even tried to include my 11 year old son with facts he thought he would find interesting. Finn gave us such a wonderful introduction to Charleston and all the landmarks... More

Brian was a great guide. He was passionate and interested in Charleston. He had heaps of historical information but added in great little interesting stories/facts to lighten the tour. He gave recommendations for places to eat/see after the tour. Brian is a local and knows the city well. Everyone on the street knew him and said hi!

This is a fun, highly educational, beautiful walking tour! The guide is well educated, informative, and fun! Not so long as to wear you out- but long enough that it is well worth your money!

This was a great way to learn about the historic district of Charleston. Brian, our tour guide, was an expert on Charleston's history and architecture. Our tour covered some of the churches, a theater, cemetery, gardens, rainbow row and the history behind each building/area. It was a two hour tour and Brian adhered to the schedule very closely. Yet, after... More

As a homeschool mom who has a traveling school room with 3 children, we have taken walking tours of all types in over 8 countries and many US States. This morning we were booked with a different company but missed that tour because of bad directions. Finn at Charleston Sole took us in and we were so impressed. Knowledgeable, kind,... More
