We missed doing the event we had planned so decided to take a ride on the water taxi instead on our fist evening in Charleston. Cost is $10 per person and you pay the guy on the taxi. They are pretty low key about collecting the money--we came on at the same time as a large group and they never... More

our water taxi was going over to the aircraft carrier and stopped so we could watch the dolphins right near the boat!

We decided to take the taxi around the harbour, for a change from walking around. It was handy to get the taxi at Waterfront Park, and we took it around to Patriot's Point, where we got off to tour. Later took the taxi back around to Waterfront Park. A good deal for $10 for all day, and it was right... More

We used this to travel over to see the USS Yorktown. Punctual, relaxing, and only $10 for an all day pass.

Nice boat ride in Charleston Harbor. We took it from Waaterfront Park to Patriots Point. It followed a a scheduled time table and it is on time. This is not a tour so the captain & attendants do not offer commentary while under way, However, they will freely answer any questions about Charleston. During our stay it was $10 per... More

We didn't need it to cross but wanted to take a ride. For $10 you can't beat it. They don't offer any information but will answer questions. Remember this is just like a taxi. But in Charleston when you park your car you don't want to drive around so this is great for crossing to and from the USS Yorktown.

Was a fun change of pace from walking the city and the kids loved seeing the dolphins. It was a little warm in the late afternoon. Might be better in morning or evening.

$10 all day pass to get around Charleston. If you're lucky, you'll see some dolphins. I wouldn't think it would be cost effective for a larger family but if you plan on sight seeing all day and you have 2-3 ppl, this is a better idea than driving.

We stayed at Mount Pleasant and used the water taxi to visit downtown Charleston which was much cheaper than staying at downtown Charleston. The employees don't talk unless you ask them a question, not very friendly but not rude either. Maybe what you would expect from a public bus driver not a tourist attraction. From other reviewers I expected more... More
