We stopped in because the place we wanted to eat at was closed, and it turned out to be wonderful. It was about 3:30 on a Monday, there was one woman working the pub and one cook. They really hussled and were very friendly. The fish and chips and hamburgers were fantastic. Would definately recommend and would definately return there.... More

Fun place for late night partying. Nice people and grungy pub atmosphere, which I like. Bring a dollar to staple to the wall/ceiling. Just don't try to stand on the table to do it!

Ordered fried chicken and fish and chips. Food was good, but very disappointed with warm beer. Would have stayed longer and ordered more if the beer was cold.

Don't let the 4 star review fool you. If you are in Charleston and you want Fish and Chips and great beer this is the ONLY place to go. Service can be iffy. Cole slaw is runny. But there is only ONE place Kari and I EVER order the same thing and that's Fish and Chips at The Griffin. Enough... More

We are currently in Charleston and went to the Griffin for a beer and lunch. The beer was average at best and the food was greasy and cheap! The decor is completely outdated. Covered in one dollar bills that people write various things on ranging from funny to disgusting. Save your money and walk a few more blocks.

After our walking tour with Brian of Charleston Sole, we asked him for a good spot for lunch and he said we should try The Griffin...that's where he eats. You will know the place because there are thousands of $1 bills hanging on the walls! The best fish & chips in town as well as tremendous burgers. We had fun... More

Dont bother with this one! there are plenty of better options close buy. The boys wanted a beer & as it was past our lunch time we took pot luck! An English pub?? Really?? No, from the outside it looked ok & I thought I would try the Soft Shel Crab sandwich to be fair it was quite good. The... More

I stopped in here with some friends and enjoyed the fish and chips with some local brews. The fish and chips were so good we went back a second time. We drew on dollar bills and added them to the wall of currency art. Can't wait to go back in the future and see if they're still up. Very neat... More

We were brought to this place when we took a pub tour in Charleston. It has a English pub with a cool atmosphere with bills covering the wall as you can see in my picture. I heard they take the bills down each year and donate them, but i'm not sure if that is true.
