Loved walking through Charleston with Al Ray, who shared his knowledge and revealed the heart and character of the City of Charleston. Al knows so much about the city, he can almost customize the focus of each tour based on the interests of those in attendance. Highly recommend this walking tour for anyone visiting the city, can't wait to come... More

Al Ray does an outstanding job leading this tour. He has a wealth of information about the city of Charleston and shares it in a personal and interesting way. We booked online and had him all to ourselves. Included were tours of two historic houses and the armory museum. We learned things about the city and architecture that we certainly... More

We chose this tour because of the positive reviews on trip advisor. Our guide Al was extraordinarily knowledgeable and personable. The tour's pace is perfect for any age. This was definitely one of the highlights of our visit and a "must do" when visiting Charleston. We enjoyed the tour so much that we look forward to returning to Charleston to... More

Today we had the pleasure of walking around Historic Charleston with tour guide, Al Ray. It was a great deal of fun as he is a wealth of knowledge on Charleston history. He is funny and loves what he does. He continues to keep it interesting with amusing stories and bits of folklore. I highly recommend this tour as he... More

So glad that you enjoyed yourself! I'm glad that you noted that you could hear me over the din of the street. One thing people forget when choosing a guide is the ability to emote. I'm in the perfect profession for a loudmouth! Thanks for the great review! More

My wife and I booked Al for a private tour of Charleston and asked that he accommodate both her love of gardens and architecture with my love of history. We were not disappointed. He is extremely informative and has a great sense of humor to keep it fun. He really draws you into the era and makes history come alive.... More

Our walking tour was an ideal combination of sights and information. Al is personable and tells stories just as you'd like to hear them. The best way to see the city is on foot.

Had a superb experience with Al Ray on this tour. He made special accommodations for The Slavery and Freedom Tour for our Book Club of 8 women on our trip from San Francisco. He was so engaging and fun and knowledgeable---wove in city/architectural history as well as the slave experience and history---we all learned so much, and had read quite... More

My wife and I visited Charelston this past weekend (April 17-21, 2014). After a great first day, we were disappointed as it rained a ton Friday and the day and afternoon/evening was a total wash out. Not how we plainer to spend our Charelston getaway. We were determined to make the most of our trip so we decided to check... More
