I love this place and we always come at least once a trip I recommend the morning around 8-9 when there is not a large crowd and it is peaceful it is a great spot of pictures and you can go out on the dock/pier for photos, its a great spot to take pictures of the Ravenel bridge, USS Yorktown... My husband and I walked around downtown-Charleston recently and enjoyed the scenery offered in this clean city park. It is beautiful and has many wading fountains.

Swings, pier, cool breezes, pictures of the bridge. They have these great swings facing the water that you can easily sit and relax on while you look out towards the water, boats, etc. Some individuals were catching fish (whities) off the pier.

This area is outstanding. The area is clean and accessible and the homes are beautiful. It is worth getting out to walk around to see the mansions.

Surrounded by water, beautiful homes, trees, history. Walk, bike, relax. Plenty of parking. A great place to feel a breeze and get a feel for Charleston's beauty.

Several evenings while there we walked along the waterfront and ended up in Waterfront Park. It was relaxing to sit and people watch. There was usually a breeze off the water and you can watch the sailboats.

Gorgeous harbor view, water fountains for the kids to play in, a nice walking path, plenty of places to sit and relax, lots of grass for picnics and playing, and a pier with benches and swings all = a great place to visit. Plus shops just down the street for added convenience.

A very nice park, beautiful views, 2 fountains that welcome wading, and 3 wide "porch swings." Cruise ship area is adjacent. We enjoyed relaxing in this park.

Waterfront Park has some tranquil places (benches under the shady trees). restful places (small lawn areas to rest, read, relax), some unusual places (find the short, blocky cement structures, stand in the middle, face Fort Sumter and talk...you'll hear your echo!) some Kodak moment places (view Patriot's Point, the Ravanel Bridge, Pinckney Island, Fort Sumter, historic homes and cobble-stoned streets, cruise... Good place to find some shade. Nice water views and place to sit and relax. Good photo ops with the fountains and the park environment in general.
