Attended our niece's wedding at fountain. It was beautiful location even with rain. We walked the park earlier and got great sunset picture.
Nothing to shout or salute about. Unspectacular seafront area used for the ferries and water taxis. But continue driving around the end of Charleston Island for views of some wonderful original two centuries old houses, some open as museums.
The Park is along the water on the southern end of Charleston and is right across the street from a row of multi-million dollar mansions. That "row" is quite long and extensive. The park itself is used by runners, couples, families to take a walk and see the sights. From the Park, one can see Fort Sumter as well as... More
Kid friendly area with fountains, open parks, great views of the water and often a docking or departing cruise ship. Benches and swinging benches all around the area are available though this is a frequented stop for locals and tourists. Grab a cup of coffee around the corner and walk through the Waterfront park.
Spent an hour relaxing at this spot, convenient to shopping, and right on the harbor. It was a beautiful fall day, sun sparkling on the water, the surrounding streets typical Charleston loveliness. The faces on the little children and their happy voices, splashing around in the fountain was great- not annoying at all. Loved it.
Slightly off East Bay St, so you can walk around or sit and relax here before or after eating at the good restaurants nearby. Nice to watch pelicans and other sea birds especially in the earlier morning hours. Nice swinging benches. Also this pier connects with a path that goes a long way around the peninsula, allowing for great views... More
Great location to take a breather from the hustle bustle of touring Charleston. If you can land yourself a swing, YAY! If not, continue down to the water's edge and plunk yourself on the ample seating where you can watch easily for dolphins playing nearby in the water. There's always a breeze and - if watching for dolphins becomes boring... More
You should stroll over down the waterfront before sunset to take in the full panorama. The view across the harbor...the aircraft carrier...the pineapple fountain. Then there is the swings on the pier on the bay. It is as romantic a stroll as you can take.
