Owner description: This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

My husband and I took the Dolphin Watch, Lighthouse, & Shelling Tour with Absolute Reel Screamer Charters in Charleston, SC in October. This is private/personal, 2-hr boat tour for $120 for 2 people. My husband & I both agree, it is by far the best thing we did in Charleston! If you want to get away from the tourist crowd... More

Gresh was recommended to me by a co-worker and I couldn't be happier about it. I traveled to Charleston by myself and he gave me a private tour of the small islands around folly beach. He knew absolutely everything there is to know about the ecosystem and history- he knew the dolphins' hunting patterns (and even had nicknames for them!),... More

We were the only boat in the water or on the beach for two hours! Just our family of 5 (children ages 8, 12 and 14) Captain Gresh, birds and dolphins! Highlights were seeing the dolphins strand feed as it his is one of the few places in the world they display this behavior and treasure hunting on Morris Island.... More

Gresh is a great tour guide! I was in Folly with 5 friends and Gresh took us to Morris Island. Along the way he captivated us with stories and history of the area. We had Morris Island all to ourselves and enjoyed the tranquility. Our ride back to the dock was equally interesting as we rode past the oyster beds.... More

This is well worth it. Gresh gives an interesting fun relaxing tour! Saw dolphins went shelling & learned a lot too. One of the best things we did on this trip to Charleston.

Chose to do this your based on the reviews found here. So happy we did! It was such a different experience and a great way to get out of the city a bit. Our tour lasted just over 2 hours. We saw a handful of dolphins up close, learned some history about the area, saw lots of oyster beds and... More

See the Morris Island Lighthouse from a completely different viewpoint. Cruise the Folly River marsh area with an entertaining, knowledgeable captain who really knows the history of the area. Dolphins are almost guaranteed, shelling is the best around and you'll have a great time!

This was one of the best things on our trip to Charleston. It's both beautiful and informative but allows you to be a kid again! We love lighthouses, and seeing Morris Lighthouse up close was fantastic. And, how often do you get to go shelling on a uninhabited barrier island? It's great for bird watching. The oyster beds are unique... More

A friend and I were suggested this tour by the concierge in our downtown Charleston hotel and we were so happy we took him up on the idea. Captain Gresh is extremely knowledgeable and made the 2 hour tour interesting and fun. He knows so much about the history and had the best perspective on the land and water we... More
