I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before... « less

I'm a local lass, but now live in London. Am home this week visiting my children and grandsons, and we've been enjoying being a tourist in our own backyard. I was looking for something a bit different to do with my daughter and her sons who are ages 14 and 12 (twins), so booked this trip. It was by far... More

I didn't plan our long weekend in Charleston as well as I usually plan our trips, but I DID make a reservation with Absolute Reel Screamer Charters. We ended up taking a carriage ride that was just okay, a ghost walk that was not so great.... but I was redeemed in the eyes of my teenagers when we got on... More

Gresham is so knowledgeable about the history of the island that he provides insightful and interesting dialogie that does not detract from the enjoyment of the scenery. He gave us an hour and a half to dicover the island and told us what to look for so that we could take a piece of history back with us. Best part... More

We took the tour to Morris Island on a ladies weekend. The boat was perfect for dolphin sitings and exploring Morris Island. Captain Gresh was very knowledgeable about the area, and even showed us how to find historic artifacts on the beach. Highly recommed this tour for wildlife enthusiasts, beach combers and history buffs alike!

Went out for an evening boat ride with Captain Gresh and really enjoyed the trip. He is very nice and very knowledgable about the area. We found lots of shells on Shell island (just remember to take something to put them in) and several sand dollars. You do have to walk a ways to find them but they are everywhere.... More

Captain Gresh"s private lighthouse boat adventure was my favorite part of our trip to Charleston. We took a private boat trip to an uninhabited island that was rich with Civil War history, artifacts, fabulous beach-combing, and a picturesque lighthouse. You feel like you are the only people on earth out there. Gresh filled us with stories of the waters on... More

One of the things the primo concierge Kevin McQuade (Marriott Historic District) recommended during our recent visit to Charleston was the Folly Beach/Morris Island eco-lighthouse tour as given by Gresh Meggett. My wife and I and our traveling companions met Gresh at the dock and were the only four for this excursion. Gresh was instantly likeable and as we got... More

Our family of five were in Charleston for four days. We were told that this island tour was one of the best things to do in Charleston and we have to agree. Gresh Megget did such a great job of giving some history of the place as well as showcasing the things that make this area so unique and special.... More

This was the highlight of our week vacation. Booking the trip was easily done over the phone and Capt. Gresh meet us at the boat launch in Folly Beach. We had 6 people in our party including our 2 children and my in laws plus our golden retriever! Within the first few minutes of the trip, we saw several bottlenose... More
