I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before... « less

Gresh rocks! What a great way to spend a morning. Felt completely safe and at home with Gresh, who is a knowledgeable captain and all around great guy. He told us all about the river, explained the history of the island and the lighthouse, and shared all of his found treasures with us! He also knows exactly where to go... More

Can't say enough about Gresh and the boat trip he took us on. Morris Island is peaceful and beautiful, especially early in the day. Great beaches and shells. Read the rest of the reviews for more info - most importantly, if you want a nice laid back short cruise near Charleston on beautiful tidal creeks and rivers followed by a... More

We were impressed with his knowledge of the area and his sharing of interesting local facts and history. Numerous dolphin were spotted on the ride as well as many interesting and rare birds. Thoroughly enjoyed a very early morning trip with Captain Gresh. He seemed to know every corner of the river as we glided in and out of the inlets of the river. We saw a couple of dolphins and got an excellent explanation of how they catch oysters. We then walked on the island for awhile to stretch our legs. A... More

We went on the 2-hour Dolphin/Morris Island adventure in February 2012. This was clearly the highlight of our trip. A pole was taken in our family & this won 1st place in the "I would like to do that again" category. Captain Gresh is very knowledgeable about the area. Being a Charleston native, he has a lot of information about... More

A couple of weeks ago on our trip to Charleston, we wanted to do something different. Our party enjoys the beach, water and hunting for seashells. This excursion sounded perfect and we were not disappointed! We could not have asked for better weather. Captain Gresh certainly knew these waters and once we landed on the beach showed us where to... More

If you appreciate nature and being out on a boat, this is a "must do" for your Charleston experience! Captain Gresh has extensive experience and knowledge on the area and he will take you where few visitors get to go. His warm, sincere personality top it off! Request an excursion at low tide if possible to maximize your experience! We... More

Our concierge at the Courtyard by Marriott Historic District recommended a private tour that would knock our socks off to a beach that is only accessible at low tide and gets us as close was one can get on land to the historic Morris Island lighthouse. My two teenaged kids and I met Gresh, the operator, at a dock outside... More

This trip was wonderful. Captain Gresh was friendly and very knowledgeable about the waters, wildlife and the history of area. We brought our two teenage daughters and they agree that this trip was a highlight of our time to the Charleston area. We loved looking for shells and walking along the beach on Morris Island and if you're a civil war... More
