Description: This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about...
This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

If you love lighthouses, boats, the water, fresh air, dolphins, learning, shells, this trip is for you! It's worth every penny! Captain Gresh knows his stuff and is very personable! He'll show you where to look for conch shells, show you up close oyster beds, look for dolphins (sometimes they are too fast for photos), and show you the different... More

This is a short drive away from downtown Charleston. We enjoyed the tranquil surrounding of the salt marshes and occasional dolphin sightings. The captain's knowledge of the area is very informative and entertaining. His love of the low land is not only evident but also contagious. It was the best two hours we spent during our short visit to Charleston.

We took the two hour Dolphin and shelling trip with Captain Gresh and had a fantastic time. During our trip Cpt Gresh pointed out seabirds, told us all about the oysters and of course we got very close to Dolphins that were fishing for their lunch. They even came right alongside the shallows in Morris Island where Cpt Gresh walked... More

Just by chance we happened to see a sign for a light house, dolphin, and shelling tour on a bike outside of Woody's. We called and set up a tour and I would have never guessed it would be so amazing. I'm from Tennessee and come to Folly every year for vacation and this years vacation will stand out in... More

We had a blast on a trip to Morris Island Lighthouse with Captain Gresh. He did a great job narrating the history, nature lessons of local birds, and sea life. Several dolphins followed the boat and came up right beside us. We found welk shells, sand dollars, and lots of great shells. There were thousands of starfish in the tidal... More

The family had a great time. Saw Dolphins and plenty of birds in the marsh. Spent an hour looking for shells. Gresh was a pleasure. He was great with the kids. Would highly recommend for anyone with children.

Capt. Gresh was a fantastic host for our trip into the marsh areas of Charleston and out to Morris Island. He has a fantastic personality and he has a deep history of the area and its history. I cannot think of anything that he could have done to improve on the trip. His experience at doing these family trips shows... More

Captain Gresh is absolutely wonderful. We had a two hour tour that allowed us to see dolphins, oysters beds, local fowls, and learn about the history of the area. It was a relaxing and fun tour, and allowed for personal farewells to be said. It was my sister's wish for her daughter to see the South Carolina that she loved,... More
