Description: This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about...
This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

I found this tour when searching TripAdvisor for a water activity to do near Folly Beach or Charleston. It had great reviews so I went to the website to find out more about the tour. It sounded just what I was looking for- a relatively short tour that would allow my husband and I to bring our dog along. The... More

Captain Gresh was great. We scheduled the tour initially for a Friday evening but the weather was bad. Instead of cancelling the excursion, he accommodated us on another day that was convenient for us. He is very knowledgeable regarding the area, pointing out things to see. We saw lots of dolphins. Would highly recommend this tour!!!

4 Adults, 4 kids (3-7years) and a whole lot of questions. Capt. Gresh was great. He spent time walking with us while identifying points of interest and explaining local history. Capt. Gresh is incredibly knowledgeable and did an excellent job answering all our children's questions (of which there were many). I would highly recommend this adventure for families with youg... More

I stumbled upon Captain Gresh on TripAdvisor while I was searching for a small tour to compliment my first solo vacation to beautiful South Carolina. You can't get much smaller than an individualized trip out to Morris Island with the charming, knowledgeable, passionate Gresh. He's got family ties to this area and is full of insight, stories and fascinating history.... More

Captain Gresh was great! He had a great personality and was very polite. He was very informative about the Charleston/Folly beach area and had family connections to the lighthouse. He helped us find sea shells, sand dollars, shark teeth, and more! We were able to see dolphins swim right up to our boat as well. We highly recommend him for... More

My first initial tour was with Captain Gresh. He is extremely knowledgeable of the animals and wildlife in the Charleston area, and takes the time to show you and inform you of the beautiful natural wildlife. I can truthfully say that after a tour with Captain Gresh through the Charleston bays and out to the Morris Island Lighthouse that you... More

My husband and I took this tour on Valentine's Day. This was the first tour we have been on, and plan to go many more times with Captain Gresh. It was interesting, and amazing. We came home so excited, and ready to plan our next tour.

Our guide knew so much about the waters and islands. So informative and fun. Stopped to see the wildlife and helped us find war relics on the beach. Absolutely wonderful tour.

Our concierge, Kevin McQuade, arranged this Eco tour with Fresh Meggett for us. It would never have occurred to me to do this while on a trip to historic Charleston. Gresh took us on his boat out towards the Morris Island lighthouse. We saw dolphins (right next to the boat), and oyster beds. We walked on a beach and found... More

My husband, 14 year old son, and I took a private Morris Island boat tour with Gresh, owner and captain of Absolute Reel Screamer Charters in Charleston, SC in November 2014. We had a private/personal, 2-hour boat tour. We all agreed, it was very amazing and one of our favorite activities we have ventured in Charleston, which exploring Charleston is... More
