St John's was a really beautiful church...we were able to go in and walk around and admire it and take pictures...while walking around Charleston if you have some time this is a nice place to visit.

We went in here with high expectations because of all the hype but were sadly disappointed. If someone has never travelled much (especially to Europe) this could be the place to go. It is a great place for a run into their clean WC however,

it is definitely worth a quick stop, but it wasn't anything clearly superior to many other catholic cathedrals around the country or even the south.

interesting catholic cathedral near Battery; if you are a cathedral-phile it is worth a visit. Interesting exterior and only recently had a steeple put on.

The cathedral is beautiful and a must see if you are touring the area. Peak through the gate along the side to get a full view of how large the building is. The grounds at St Patrick were much prettier but the inside was amazing.

We attended Sunday Mass performed by the bishop. He greeted folks as they walked in the door and did the same thing after Mass. His sermon was given around the first few pews and was a good one. The interior is beautiful and should not be missed.

An amazing structure. Breathtaking architecture to say the least. It being our first time in Charleston, my wife and I and two great friends hustled all over town taking in a sampling of the history, foods and sights. Amidst all of the exciting running around we stopped into the cathedral and literally, stopped. Not a sound, not a person, not... More

It is a beautiful cathedral with a welcoming family. Go to mass at 11am and you're sure to hear a wonderful, inspirational homily by the Bishop. Most likely the mayor will be passing the collection basket. A very welcoming parish that loves their visitors.

This stunning Catherdral is the most lovely and breath-taking house of worship I have ever seen, it rivals New York and Boston for it's styling and feel. Aamazing service, lovely people.

This is a beautiful church, not quite as grand as the cathedral in Savannah, but absolutely lovely and worthy of a visit. When in the Southeast I recommend the two Cathedrals of St. John the Baptist in Charleston & Savannah and Duke Chapel in Durham, NC.
