Anyone with a shred of history in their blood should make this very informative trip. Yeah, we all remember this is where it all began but the story behind the beginning is what it's all about. The trip out (and back) was very nice giving views and information about both Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. At the fort you are allowed... More

Had a wonderful time on the Carolina Belle with the Charleston Harbor Tours group. The boat itself was most comfortable and the crew very accommodating. We were able to tour shorelines of many neighboring islands, get a sense of history as narrated on the tour, and see most beautiful homes of the "low country" of the Carolinas. Food and beverages... We lucked out and the rain stopped before we boarded. The cruise company was very accommodating as we had to re-schedule a couple of time. Saw a couple of dolphins and a sailing regatta was going on. A pleasant way to take a break from all the walking.

This was an hour and a half relaxing boat ride but not a whole lot more. It takes you out one side of the Charleston harbor, out past Fort Summit the back in the reverse side. The history of the harbor is basic and you only see a few truly historical aspects of the area. Those attractions can be seen... More

Charleston has so much to offer and it can be hard to figure out what to do in a limited time, as most of us must do when we visit. Well, I have to give a vote to this attraction as a wonderful way to see much of Charleston and learn a lot about our Nation's history in a short... More

What a wonderful review! Thanks so much for taking a tour with Charleston Harbor Tours and for taking the time to write such a thorough review. Just a quick note about the boarding ramp. The steepness actually depends on the tide and it's best to call before the tour to check that if one is worried about handicap access. Drew... More

Based on the reviews below I was really excited for this part of our combo tour- unfortunately within minutes of settling in our seats on the top deck of the ferry- it was announced that due to mechanical failure our tour was cancelled for unlimited time- which pretty much meant that we were done for the day. Really? you don't... More

Thank you for attempting to take our harbor tour and for taking the time to post a review. I am very sorry there was a mechanical issue that forced us to come back to the dock. While this is rare, it can happen as there are some unforeseeable issues that can arise with boats. We strive to limit this and... More

The best way to understand why Charleston was such an important port. It's also such a great way to spend a couple hours and see the city from a really unique vantage point. The Crew/Staff were so welcoming and helpful too.

My wife and I enjoyed a great relaxing 3 hours, listening to narrative regarding the history of Charleston Harbor, and there is a lot of it. We had a great relaxing day and calm sea the day we were aboard. It had inside/outside seating, but the outside was pretty cramped if you have a full cruise. The captain was very... More

Add-on harbor tour by Palmetto Carriage works. Nice size two story boat that takes passengers on a 90 minute tour of Charleston Harbor with almost non stop narration as we passed the cruise terminal, Historic Fort Johnson and Fort Sumter and the Arthur Ravenel Jr bridge, and Sullivan's Island. Dolphins added to our delight as we passed through the harbor.

It was a cloudy day with a few sprinkles but we stayed warm on the lower deck. Great views of the harbor! Dolphin sightings were frequent! The tour guide was knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor. Highly recommend!
