We purchased passage on this tour as part of a carriage/harbor your combination package. We took the harbor cruise a day after the carriage tour of Charleston. This was certainly a very nice a and relaxed way to see the harbor sites! A very pleasant 90 minute tour took us to Ft Sumter and concluded with a pass under the... More

This is a very relaxing way to see a different perspective of the city, hear some history, and see Fort Sumter up close without committing as much time as an actual trip to the fort. There is a snack bar on the boat to help you recharge if you didn't find the time to stop for lunch or drinks before... More

A rather "folksy" delivery of Ft. Sumter history but I liked it. A real history buff may be put off. View is gorgeous. The 9:30 tour was not very crowded - more folks on the 11:00 tour. They have a lot of chairs on deck - expecting a bigger crowd. However, since our tour was so small, we wandered all... More

Nice boat, crew, and views. Interesting way to see the city and it harbor. You see the forts, the city, the bridges, and get good insight. But, in terms of history.... there is a pro-rebel bias that may offend some. Lincoln is cast as an aggressor - and the North is blamed for forcing the attack on Ft. Sumter. While,... More

Ask for boat captain Ken and guide Ben. Ken is experienced and took us close and and good angles to the sites. Ben is retired history teacher and has great delivery. They both share the 'local' aspect to the history. Well worth the hour and money.

This was extremely educational for the most part but with the wind blowing it was difficult to hear the narrator. They need better sound equipment on the boats! Our narrator was an X History teacher so he was prepared for the tour!

We took this tour with some friends earlier this week and this was time well spent. The one and one half hour on the water provided us with much information on the history of Charleston and the many historic sites along the Charleston harbor. This is a "must do" when visiting Charleston!

My wife and I took this tour while in town for a cruise. It was time well spent. The caption / guide was great. The length was just right. We heard information on the history and sites of Charleston, and used this info to decide where to visit on land. We had dolphins playing with the ship- it was great.... More

You can make reservations and just show up. I liked this tour because you got on the boat and did not have to get off, just rode around the harbour, took a ride under the bridge and their was a guide to tell you what you were looking at. My mother uses a walker and the staff was more than... More
