Description: There's no better way to see historic Charleston than from the vantage...
There's no better way to see historic Charleston than from the vantage point of an Old South Carriage. Family owned and operated since 1983, Old South Carriage Company offers fully narrated hour-long tours by licensed guides wearing the Confederate uniform with the Red Sash. Come to our English-style stable at 14 Anson Street, just 2 blocks from The City Market and meet our friendly and professional staff. Reservations are not necessary as tours depart every 20 - 30 minutes throughout the day. A ramp leading to a platform makes boarding easy. Old South Carriage Company uses French Percherons and Belgian Draft horses. These sturdy employees vacation at Sugah Cain, the owner's 65-acre plantation on John's Island. For 2-3 months annually, these beautiful horses are free to run in large pastures or leisurely graze under century-old live oaks. Tours operate daily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 (DST) 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (EST). ~Look for the Red Sash~ Our symbol of a quality horse-drawn carriage tour of Charleston, South Carolina.

We were so pleased that we took this tour. Our guide was so interesting and seemed to know the history of the city. We were on tour 2 and were pleased to see and hear about so many buildings. Go on this tour, and you will not regret it.

I can't recommend Old South Carriage Company enough! We had a great, seamless experience from booking to tour. When we arrived for our tour, the weather had been rainy on and off throughout the day. Without us even having to ask, the tour coordinator checked to see if we wanted to take our chances with the weather or re-book for... More

My friend and I had a great time on the tour! Our guide was awesome as was Max our hoarse. The only thing I was disappointed with was not seeing the Rainbow Row as they took a different route that morning. . Other than that, it was really good.

Steven and Sammy (the horse) were fantastic guides through Charleston. It was the highlight of our trip and we couldn't reccomend this company more highly!

Have been coming here for years and every few we take carriage tour. Recommend this company for the best tour. When one signs up for a tour you really do not know where you are heading. City of charleston controls the number of carriages in each area of the city. Once your loaded and ready, you stop by the booth,... More

Steven and Jake (the horse) were fabulous. We had a large party with tired children and Steven did a great job keeping them entertained. Loved getting to see a good part of the city and having him point out things we never would have known if we have toured on our own. Even in the heavy rain, if was well... More

What a great time we had on our historic tour of Charleston. We had an awesome guide who was very knowledgeable about Charleston's history and kept us laughing. I would highly recommend! We will definitely take more tours next time we are in Charleston.

We enjoyed our time on our tour. It was informative and our guide did a great job of communicating historic info while enjoying herself and drawing people into conversation as well. We have taken a few carriage tours in Charleston and this is our favorite

Josh was very knowledgeable of the area and the history. It was an excellent way to be able to cover more ground in a slower fashion than driving. My mom and I learned tons of facts and after the tour, we wandered around the city exploring in more depth everything he'd taught us. It's a good value and better than... More
