Description: There's no better way to see historic Charleston than from the vantage...
There's no better way to see historic Charleston than from the vantage point of an Old South Carriage. Family owned and operated since 1983, Old South Carriage Company offers fully narrated hour-long tours by licensed guides wearing the Confederate uniform with the Red Sash. Come to our English-style stable at 14 Anson Street, just 2 blocks from The City Market and meet our friendly and professional staff. Reservations are not necessary as tours depart every 20 - 30 minutes throughout the day. A ramp leading to a platform makes boarding easy. Old South Carriage Company uses French Percherons and Belgian Draft horses. These sturdy employees vacation at Sugah Cain, the owner's 65-acre plantation on John's Island. For 2-3 months annually, these beautiful horses are free to run in large pastures or leisurely graze under century-old live oaks. Tours operate daily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 (DST) 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (EST). ~Look for the Red Sash~ Our symbol of a quality horse-drawn carriage tour of Charleston, South Carolina.

We had the pleasure of having Raile they Guide and David the horse. She was awesome and so full of historic info, David the horse was sweet as iced tea and loved to be loved on. We will definitely do this again.

My mom and I were in South Carolina for my sons graduation from ft Jackson. I surprised her with the carriage ride. We had the greatest experience, it was my mom's favorite part of the trip! The tour guide was awesome and was so knowledgeable.yes I would do it again and tell others!

I visited Charleston 2 years ago in the summer and took a ride with this carriage company. It was a wonderful tour. Visited again in late March and had just as excellent a tour. Our driver/guide was Josh H. and our horse was Ralph (I know it's a horse but you gotta respect the talent). As someone who takes a... More

This was a great tour. We have taken this one on two different occasions and have had different routes each time. The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and the horses are cute!

Taking a carriage ride is an excellent way to get a good general view of all the attractions of Charelston. We only had one day to see Charelston and feel it was well worth it to spend it taking a carriage and boat ride. At a price point of only $41 it was well worth it

Three of us went on this tour and enjoyed it very much. The tour guide was very informative and we took his suggestion as to where to eat and had a lovely meal. The tour takes you around Charleston and gives a bit of the history regarding the homes. The guides do not know where they are going to take... More

We are from Charleston but had out of town guests and wanted them to see historic Charleston. Ro was our guide and she was great--knowledgeable, personable, and funny. She clearly loves her job and has a passion for sharing the history of the city. Next time we have guests we will definitely reserve a ride with Old South and request... More

My daughter and I visited Charleston for three days and the carriage tour was one of the things on our to-do list. We were very pleased with our guide and her knowledge of Charleston.
