Visited this on our walking tour of Beaufort and was told about some of the people in the graveyard of the church and then was given a tour of the inside along with some of the history of the building. Well worth the visit.

Searched the cemetery for historical ancestor burials, and was not disappointed. I only wish I had more time than I did for further searching.

This church carries on today with services in historic Beaufort, SC, but probably much differently than it did in the early 1700's. For us, it was the cemetery that drew us in, as there are stones dating back to the Revolutionary War. One such grave of Col. John Barnwell, who was born in Dublin,Ireland in 1671, and was laid to... Beautiful church, interior very well kept. The graveyard is so interesting and so old. Docent did not acknowledge us. We had already read about it, but would have been nice to hear a few extra facts. Definitely worth the time.

This is one of the most beautiful historic churches that I have seen. Take some time to walk around the grave yard!

Saw it just passing through on my way to Hunting Island State Park. Looked liked it had some history behind it!

My hubby and I like visiting old cemeteries and the one that surrounds this church was VERY old. There is a lot of history to learn about St. Helena's and a docent on hand to explain it.

Beautiful old church - established 1712 - churchyard is the resting place for Revolutionary War soldiers (both Patriots and British), Confederate soldiers, and members of old Beaufort families. Docents on duty most days to show off the inside and share the history of this beloved place.

This was our second visit here and this time it was with the help of a docent. He did an outstanding job of telling about the history of the church, the altar and then did a walking tour of the cemetery. That was fascinating from the Revolutionary War soldiers, to the doctor who was buried with water and a loaf... More

I had an evening stroll through the grounds, alone to check out the graveyard, what was I thinking! The trees dripping with spanish moss, no neighbors in sight and the church organ going- it was very interesting but got a little creepy. Don't miss it- read the headstones, it's worth the stop.
