Seeing a church that was started around the inception of this historic town was pretty interesting. Even better was the graveyard that surrounded the church grounds. There were confederate and American flags next to graves beside one another. Truly worth seeing if you are a history buff! An easy walk from Bay Street if you are down there shopping already.

The old church, now an Anglican church, was a surgery during the civil war run by the union army, but did "surgeries" on union and confederate soldiers. Many soldiers from both sides of the war are in the old graveyard that surrounds the church, and is open to the public. Many graves are marked by flags indicating which side of... More

This cemetery unlike most others in historic cities is open to the public 24/7. It is beautifully maintained with graves dating back to the 1700's. Flags and markers for union and confederate army veterans are well preserved. I even found 2 markers for Revolutionary War veterans.

Wonderful knowledgeable docents gave us a tour of the place pointing out historical characters like Tuscarora Jack. They showed us the graveyard and church. This church also often hosts organ concerts along with several services each Sunday.

Quaint, lovely church...I always enjoy going inside of at least one structure. This provided a welcome respite during the wonderful walking tour.

I saw this on Janet's Walking tour and just loved it. Very historic church, lovingly and beautifully maintained by devoted parishioners. Lots and lots of history.

Visited this on our walking tour of Beaufort and was told about some of the people in the graveyard of the church and then was given a tour of the inside along with some of the history of the building. Well worth the visit.

Searched the cemetery for historical ancestor burials, and was not disappointed. I only wish I had more time than I did for further searching.
