The docent's are knowledgable and friendly-happy to answer questions about the amazing history of this beautiful church which pre-dates the American Revolution. Walking through the cemetery is a history lesson as well. The Spanish moss and the quiet makes this a special place to visit more than once.

Founded in 1712, St. Helena's Church is a vibrant congregation in the middle of Beaufort. The original building of 1724 was enlarged in 1842 into the structure currently in place surrounded by a large cemetery and across the street from a large parish hall. The interior is beautifully decorated with a simplicity that invites the worshipper for a time of... More

Built in the early 1700's and is still in great condition. The main Sunday Service attendance is over 700. Has continued to house the Anglican Church except for a few years during and following the Civil War. It was used as a hospital by the Union Army for two or three years. If the "OPEN" sign is on the front... More

This church is in the centre of Natchez and I visited it as part of a walking tour. This church appears to be centre of the community and as such, is well maintained and obviously loved. Visitors are welcome to come and explore the church and take a load off their feed for a short time.

We walked around the church because they were having services when we arrived. There are tons of graves around the church with several markers you can still read. Just stay on the path as they request. The church is beautiful and well preserved....majestic if you will. Loved the brick wall around the whole place.

Although my wife and I are not Episcopalian, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to St. Helena's worship service. The beautifully kept church and grounds are a delight. The wonderful pipe organ sounds amazing. Thank you.

I went three times to the church which is in the center of town and it is very historic having been stables as well as a hospital during the civil war. The churchyard is also interesting and fairly well kept. However o each of the occasions I went the door to the church was locked.

We loved wandering around the graveyard inside the church grounds and then listening to the fascinating history of Beaufort and St. Helena's as told by the knowledgeable docent. A definite must see while you're in Beaufort.

We visited this lovely church and graveyard on a Tour With Janet. One of the many historical sites we saw and learned about.
