You can walk or ride your bike along this lovely stretch of marsh & river views. Benches along the way allow for restful stops for a picnic lunch or just a welcome break from the day-to-day hustle & bustle. Real gem!

The Spanish Moss Trail is the new diamond in the rough among the Beaufort exercise crowd. It's wide sidewalks, beautiful nature scenery, and healthy social atmosphere makes for a perfect place to spend the afternoon. Whether renting bikes from "Slow Country Bike Rentals" or bringing along your own, the trail proves to be a perfect spot for recreational biking. Also... More

The Spanish Moss Trail is a new addition to Beaufort. Located behind the Technical College of the Low Country, the trail meanders along the marsh for several miles. The trail is paved for bike riders and skaters, but is not lit for night activities. Take your dog and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We just completed the 3.3 mile section from Depot Road to just about Port Royal. What a wonderful stretch through marshes, wooded residential areas! Wide enough for plenty of foot and bicycle traffic with distance and elevation markers and benches for resting along the way! Cannot wait to come back to see how much more of this trail is completed...so... More

I am amazed nobody has provided some basic details on how to access the trail, how the mile markers work, etc - not even the primary website. So here is one way to do it. Start at the access point at 1709 Westvine Drive, Port Royal (works well in GPS, nice parking area, benches, etc). As you face the trail... More

This trail was not what I was expecting. It is a concrete path very flat and suitable to bike but it runs through the back of housing developments and has no scenic appeal. If you just want exercise its okay. I was looking for something more natural and scenic

Take your fishing dear. You can fish from the bridge over the tidal creek. Love this trail. It was easy to walk and scenic.

I live on the trail. It is absolutely beautiful. My 91 year old father sits on the deck and watches families with their dogs when the weather is warm. The view of the creek is lovely.

We were delighted to find an easy, interesting area to ride our bicycles. We rode the length of the trail and they explored Port Royal. Not seeing a better way back to Beaufort, we rode back on the trail. It is great now and if they extend it, it will be even better.

Take this new pathway through the Beaufort community to see the unbeaten path through fields, marsh, neighborhoods, and over tidal creeks. It's a special place and can accommodate your favorite mode of exercise! Open dawn to dusk.
