I live on the trail. It is absolutely beautiful. My 91 year old father sits on the deck and watches families with their dogs when the weather is warm. The view of the creek is lovely.
We were delighted to find an easy, interesting area to ride our bicycles. We rode the length of the trail and they explored Port Royal. Not seeing a better way back to Beaufort, we rode back on the trail. It is great now and if they extend it, it will be even better.
Take this new pathway through the Beaufort community to see the unbeaten path through fields, marsh, neighborhoods, and over tidal creeks. It's a special place and can accommodate your favorite mode of exercise! Open dawn to dusk.

The trail has only been opened a few months and is only 1 + miles. They are currently taking contributions to add another mile to the trail and I can't wait. I ride back and forth to get my 10+ miles in daily and enjoy the wonderful views of the water. The trail is wide and concrete and plenty of... More
We had such a great ride on this bike trail enjoying the peaceful quiet and natural surroundings that we wished it would be completed. I think the city should invest in it's completion since it would draw even more families and excercise lovers to the city. It is only about a mile or so now. We crossed over a bridge... More
The unpaved part of this trail is very nice. Watch out for bicycles on paved part of trail, you can't hear them coming from behind. Be careful if you have young children or pets with you. Look back often.
The Spanish Moss Trail is a recently opened rail trail that is tucked away from Bay Street, the Waterfront Park, and the historic district. So far, it's been of a locals-only attraction and convenience due to its location away from visitor amenities. However, visitors too will enjoy the one mile long paved trail, which will be expanding to Port Royal... More
