We arrived in town for one night to see the boat parade and only had a few hours to spare. When I called, the "Whispers From the Grave" tour was not available, but the person took my number, and then called me back after arranging a tour for us. It was great fun. We've been on the walking ghost tours... More

If you are interested in history and the civil war period to present you will have to take this tour. It was about a 3 hour walking tour which was easy on the legs, ending with a visit and free treat at the Chocolate Factory. Our tour guide was very informed on the history and added lots of little asides.... More

We booked this tour online thru Zervis. When we arrived at the designated meeting place, there was no one there to greet us. After a phone call and inquiry at a store desk we learned that our tour was not scheduled at The Spirit of Old Beaufort. That was reasonably quickly resolved and the owner, Evelene, took us on the... After the many problems with the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce, plus businesses not knowing where the Information Center was located, then having been given wrong directions, booking this tour was pure heaven. Ms. Evelene Stevenson actually ran the 4pm tour with me the only one on the tour. This truly was one of the best tours that I've ever had.... More

Took the historic van tour during the day with Evelyns son and the Gullah/ghost tour in the evening with Ashley. Both were excellent although the evening tour covered some of the same information already given during the day but this was okay as it was mixed with the local folklore and Gullah stories. Very enjoyable.

We enjoyed one of the best tours that we ever had with Evelene Stevenson. We enjoyed the tour very much with Evelene, who had a terrific knowledge of the history and what had taken place in Beaufort. She was also the epitome of a southern lady who made the tour enjoyable, fun and gave us information about the Civil War... More

Evelene, the owner, was welcoming and introduced us to our guide Ashley. Ashley is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area, ghost stories and the dialect. We were enraptured with her beautiful voice singing old gullah songs. This is a must do when visiting Beaufort area! We will also go on their other types of tours next visit.

This tour was well staffed by knowledgable guides who have been doing these tours for a number of years. The guides were dressed in costume and got into character to add ambiance. The tour bus was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed both the Beaufort history and the accompanying stories. Some of the stories were quite funny. We learned old southern... More
