This is a beautiful setting for a day or an afternoon. It is laid out in sections. Very humbling to think of all who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today. Beautiful decorated with all the flags.

Very impressive and as African Americans, we did not know that former African American soldiers were buried there after the civil war. A very moving experience and totally unexpected.

We only drove through. Grounds were well kept. Not much of information as to historic value. However it was an honor to pay respects to those who served.

Every headstone has a story if we would take time to read them. This is a beautiful, but small, national cemetery. The care keepers do an excellent job of maintaining the grounds. It was established in 1863 and there is one Medal of Honor recipient and many heroes who thought it worthwhile to defend our country and our way of... More

This cemetery although dating back to the Civil War, continues to hold funerals here to this day, for service men and women and their families. If you go into the main building, you will get a map, so that you can identify places in the cemetery by states. We simply enjoyed reading the gravestones, with dates back to the mid... More

What can I say. Another national cemetery. Very serene. So sad. If your in Beaufort, a must visit. Not huge like Arlington.

This was an old cemetery with many civil war graves. It was so amazing to look at the long line of graves and imagine so many young lives lost. We were fortunate to have a guide who was telling a lot of the background. I recommend this as a part of any tour.

I love Civil War history. This cemetery has vets from many wars. It's so peaceful and pretty. As always in SC in the summer, bring bug spray.
