This is a cemetery for veterans, beautifully and tastefully laid out for those to pay there last respects to Veterans. We were there a couple of days before Memorial day and the grounds were covered with flags giving more honor to those interred there. A quite place to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who are laid to rest.

This is a lovely small national cemetery with graves going back to the Civil War. It is very well maintained and a beautiful setting with the old oaks and Spanish moss

Like other National Cemeteries this is a special place! It got a face-lift to the brick wall that surrounds it, a year or so ago, and that really improved the outward appearance. Beautiful setting to honor those who have served and their families. I hope the planned expansion will maintain the overall high quality of this national treasure.

To think what these folks sacrificed to earn the right to be buried in such a honorable and beautiful place is both inspiring and eye-opening. Two weeks ago a common sense challenged young lady was stomping on the American flag at Valdosta State College. Looking across these hallowed grounds at thousands of graves of men and women who made the... More

It was an interesting stroll among the graves of such brave men and women. including so many from the Civil War. Pick up a brochure and map in the box by the parking spaces before you begin; it will help understand the organization of the graves.

Both Federal and Confederate soldiers are buried there … also many others. Also present were several graves of the 54th Massachusetts … all black unit (as in the film "Glory?"). Not a happy place to visit but we need to pay full respect to all who died … and a reminder of how terrible war is.

My beau and I attended the Laying of the Wreaths ceremony. Awesome. I enjoyed the speakers and the strong military, veterans, and motorcycle presence. We took pictures and helped lay several wreaths in this large cemetery. A very moving afternoon.
