We saved our buggy tour for our last day (Sunday) in Beaufort. All of the information I found said that they begin tours at noon on Sundays. However, when I called that morning, the answering machine said they were closed for a day of rest. I applaud taking Sunday off, I just wish I'd known so we could have planned... More

We took our four younger kids on this tour, and of course we enjoyed it more than they did. My older two really loved all the big, beautiful houses we saw. We saw a few houses where Prince of Tides and Glory were filmed. We passed an armory and a castle. The tour guide told us lots of interesting bits.... More

We have been vacationing in Hilton Head for several years, and we always try to take a day trip somewhere in the low country. This year we headed to Beaufort. Our first stop was a buggy tour with Southurn Rose. We knew a tour would orient us to the city and help us plan the rest of our day. Our... More

When my husband and I travel to a new destination we like to get an overall lay of the land with a local tour. This buggy tour was quite helpful. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. If you have any interest in the local history and stories of the area take the time for this tour. If you travel... More

The tour is in a horse drawn carriage. Our guide was Maryann and she was an excellent presenter. She was very knowledgable about the history and also all the movie star trivia in the city where many movies have been made. Not a boring tour at all. Easy to get to and only about an hour long.

They use 2 horses to share the load. Buggys hold abount 16 people. Tours last about 1 hour and cost $16 PER PERSON. A bargain, you tour all the historical homes where various movies have been shot, nice churches, and hear stories about the locals (both dead and alive).

I was with a group and as soon as we started out the bridle on our horse broke and we had a runaway buggy for a half minute. The driver knew what to do and got us in control. We had to wait for a little while to get a new bridle but they seem to know how to handle... More

This was a great way to see Beaufort. The guide did a great job narrating the history, highlighting notable landmarks, and giving a sense of life in this beautiful town. We especially liked the way they treated the animals. It was a great tour!

We always take a tour as we enter a new city - by trolley or other mode of transportation. This tour was exceptional - Andrea knew her history, made it interesting and personal without being too "folksy or jokster" as some try to be. Horse drawn carriage was comfortable & even the horse was entertaining! We could hear well and... More

We are in Beaufort to look at communities to move to in the near future. As part of a "Discovery Tour" offered by one of the communities, we had two free tickets to a Southurn Rose tour. Our tour guide was Andrea, and she was great! Although I'm sure all the guides know the history of the area, Andrea added... More
