My husband and I are glad we took this tour. We learned so much more about the history of Beaufort and the old homes. Our tour guide answered any questions we had. I would recommend doing this first before you set out on foot to check out the sites around town. Our horse liked eating the moss when he could.... More

We enjoyed a really nice tour. Very easy to set up and the cost was $21 a person. We arrived at their location, paid, got our tickets and the next carriage left in 40 mins. Just enough time to check out the bathroom have a quick stroll down Bay St. The carriage was covered, nice since we had a brief... More

We were not planning on stopping in Beaufort, but after reading about the town in our AAA book we decided to stop. While in the tourist information center, we started to talk to a couple from Canada and they just got off the Buggy ride tour of Beaufort and the said it was wonderful, so we signed up. What a... For our first trip to Beaufort, SC, in late March, we decided to get an overview of the area with a buggy ride tour. Our inn concierge pointed out on the map where the buggy rides start from, down by the waterfront, so we made our way there. We parked the car in the ample parking lot. You can park... More

I was on a cruise during spring break and even though we were rained on, we still enjoyed this tour very much. The young woman who gave our tour was fabulous! She was pleasant and knowledgeable. I think she told us the horse was a retired Amish work horse which I found marvelous! She had a very funny story about... More

Beaufort is such a charming town. What better way to view lovely Beaufort than in a horse drawn carriage? Our tour guide/carriage driver was friendly, well informed and interesting. We learned a great deal about the history of Beaufort on this 55-minute ride. The carriage ride was the perfect way to view the beautiful historic homes. We most certainly recommend... More

We had a tremendous tour of Beaufort with Southern Rose. Our tour guide was both informative and entertaining with her knowledge and witty delivery of Beaufort's history and intrigue. The $18 per person charge was worth every penny and we left with an appreciation of this charming town and it's rich and colorful history. Money well spent!

Had the most enjoyable horse drawn carriage tour through historic Beaufort, SC. Our guide made the tour not only informative but also entertaining and our gentle giant Jim kept a relaxing pace past 700 year old live oaks, movie sites and homes and churches dating back to before the Revolutionary War. Great experience and I would highly recommend it.

Fun ride through a wide circle of downtown Beaufort. $18pp fare pre-tip. Bill, our guide was informative and kept up a constant monologue of facts and figures. Only constructive suggestion w/b to be a bit slower in delivery allowing some interaction give and take with the tourists on the ride. The monologue was sometimes too rapid fire and mechanical. Still... More

We saw historic Beaufort and learned about it's buildings, people and history. All the history was given in story form and was very enjoyable. Our horse drawn carriage moved at a very leisurely pace giving us plenty of time to look around and ask questions.
