A packed out little store off of the main downtown strip on Carteret Street, well worth a visit. Tons of chocolate selections, so hard to choose. They sell pre-wrapped gift boxes from 1/2 pound to 3 pounds of random, nuts, caramels or solids. We just got a 1 pound gift box for ourselves (also cheaper than buying piece-by-piece) and were... The small little store where the chocolates in Forest Gump's "box of chocolates" was said to be from is a quaint little chocolate store in downtown Beaufort. There were many varieties and seasonal offerings from which to choose. We felt that the chocolate was a little over priced and a sample or two could have been offered.

Shoppers guide has a free coupon for a free chocolate sand dollar. But don't stop there! The truffles are to die for. I highly recommend the fuzzy navel truffle. WOW! Forrest Gump can't be wrong about chocolate. Tom Hanks hand picked the box of chocolate from this store for the hit movie Forrest Gump.

We stopped in for a free sample of their chocolate as recommended... Delish! We also bought some milk chocolate bars and peanut brittle. Very nice store and fully stocked.

The Chocolate Tree in Beaufort, SC has always been a first stop when we are in the area, but especially this time of year, when the handmade caramel apples are available! Juicy Granny Smith apples are coated with their wonderful caramel and sold plain or with peanuts, cashews, or pecans. This trip we found ourselves going back twice for the... More

After a full day Beaching and Birding at Hunting Island State Park we were on mission for chocolate and shopping and dinner in Beaufort. The chocolate was wonderful, the shopping was fun and dinner was great.

This is my mother's favorite chocolate. After visiting the shop I now know why. The chocolate is delicious, and their fillings are to die for. Really. And the shop has a wonderful ambiance. And the people are welcoming and delightful. No one in our family can go to Beaufort without getting some chocolate for my mother. I also bought chocolate... More

If you go nowhere else while in Beaufort - go here! Several local shopkeepers recommended a stop at The Chocolate Tree and they were right! The truffles, candies and pecans were to literally die for. I've had chocolates from all over the world, but these are right up there at the top. The Amaretto truffle was delicious....

The variety is incredible & even a large selection of sugar free! Smiling faces on everyone entering & leaving The Chocolate Tree. So happy we heard about The Chocolate Tree on Janet's walking tour. Stopped in for a dark choc sand dollar on the tour then we walked back after early dinner before they closed at 6 to take peanut... More

One of life's greatest pleasures used to be a caramel apple from the Chocolate tree in October. What happened??? Not the gooey, sweet, stick to your teeth caramel that used to be made here. I bought two today after the Beaufort Shrimp Festival and was very, very disappointed. After a couple of bites there was a greasy after effect like... More
