Spent about 4 hrs on the south side. The water was clean and cool, although I heard some say that it was too cold (light weights). It felt great on an 80 degree July day. The beach itself is not that wide and was crowded for a weekday. everyone we encountered however was friendly and polite. As the tide came... More

There was a lot of people there when we visited. Plus it cost money to park ($10 a day) which seemed crazy, but there were life guards and bathrooms.

Love to walk the beach both night and day. It's beautiful to watch the sun rise over the water from the beach. I enjoy this beach every year.

I have been coming here for 40 years and never tire of how this place makes me feel. I relax and feel refreshed after a beautiful day here. I especially like the fall here because it's my own beach then. I love to walk the entire length of the shoreline every day and feel that this is a slice of... More

I had never parked on the south lawn side before. Meet some friends who had an RV who were parked right on the ocean. Ther are picnic tables there that we used. Fired up the grill, ate, walked feet to the beach. Not alot of wave action at this beach but great views. There were a lot of people with... More

I've been going to this beach since the 60's. As far as New England beaches go, this one is a rock star. We usually stay across the street so there is no parking fee. And the waves are almost always huge! The boardwalk used to be wooden but it's been replaced with a concrete one. Nice beach overall

I generally go to Narragansett beach though I just discovered Scarborough and I am very happy about it. The water is incredibly clear and the bottom is sandy with the exception of random large rocks throughout the water. On the left side of the beach there are beautiful ruins overgrown with vines, and a nice ocean-side walk/hike. There is access... More

Although born and raised in NY, I have been in NC for 20 years. Visited some extended family here, in JULY and FROZE! For a real beach experience...go south! Way down south.
