The ferry has gotten stupidly expensive, especially in the off season. It really prevents us from taking day trips over there. After hurricane Sandy, we wanted to go over to help with some cleanup, but it would have cost a day's pay to do it, so we bailed on the idea. Used to be my favorite place as a kid.... More

We stayed across the street so access to the ferry was great. We left at 1:30pm and came back on the 7:00pm trip. It's only an hour ride, but you can pay double for the express ferry which can take you there in 1/2 the time.

If it's not the height of the summer, when the Ferry is packed and Block Island is overrun, this is a great trip to a lovely spot. Good service to a great island. Service is on a very regular basis and serves the residents as well as tourists.

The Ferry ride was terrific, I love to be on the water and we dined at Finns where the food was excellent. Would have been nice to have the car as we wanted to tour the island but the price to take a car over is a bit much. It was a lovely visit none the less.
