This year's Festival was a great time at the Misquamicut state beach. From the car show, to the bands, rides and games, and food. Then take a nice walk on the beach and plenty of places to eat or have a drink. Plus a good time to stay over night with the festival running after labor day, prices on motels... More

I was totally disgusted by my trip to Misquamicut on September 8, 2014. The place was a mess, granted, we paid no $28 out of state fee, BUT, I would have gladly paid that for a bathroom. All the bathrooms were closed except for 3 porta potties. The porta potties were gross, trash piled in them, dirty toilet paper thrown... More

Every summer our whole family went camping and it always included Misquamicut! We kept our camping trailer down at a place called "Card's Camps" on a permanent basis so all we did on Friday evening was take the 2 1/2 hour drive down there to Rhode Island. The beach was always clean and had lots of waves. Most always, I... More

We found this beach quite rocky compared to East Beach, not dirty but not as clean. The sand was rough and there was no bathrooms open only portable ones that you could not lock the doors.

Misquamicut beach is great! Huge waves, soft, warm sand, and hot sun. Great for a summer day in August. Great food at the snack bar, too.

Loved the warm water, gradual drop off at high tide, fun surf and family atmosphere at this post labor day time of year. Did not like the state beach closed facilities and blocked off incoming traffic after 2:pm, The town beach was more accessible, but had twice as much seaweed, sani-cans were close but no bath house to change, nor... Post Hurricane sandy meant that the width of beach became reduced, which means overcrowding on hot, sunny summer weekends. The parking lot and beach road gets filled up by noon, causing long delays. The surf is great and suitable for young children to wade, relaxed swimming and some waves during high tide for boogie boards. There are lifeguards scattered but... More

It's pretty much the low end Jersey Shore crowd in Rhode Island. There are life guards, and plenty of places to eat.... but not what I'm looking for. Overpriced cheesy souvenir and beach shops; rides and attractions.
