You can't beat Sachuest Beach or Second Beach as the locals call it. I grew up on it and my 40 something kids did. The only problem is on weekends the parking fills up very early - before 10AM so you need to be early risers. As the water warms you can get seaweed but it's usually not bad and... More

Plenty of parking, nice beach, and roped area to help the birds survive natural predators. Gorgeous views of the cliffs and Sachuest Point Nature Center

We had a very nice beach day at Sachuest Beach. Where we sat was very busy -close to where the entrance was but there was nice stretches to walk where there were few people. There was a lot of red seaweed which may have also contributed to people bunching together on the beach. We brought a picnic with us but... More

This is a lovely, small beach with adequate parking. Within walking distance are hotels and great eating places. You are also not far from the Tennis Hall of Fame and many shops are also within walking distance. The beach itself,is clean and well sheltered. Great views also of some of Newports beautiful houses.

Apart from the parking fee of $10 on weekdays or $20 Holiday/weekends, there is nothing to not love about this place. Great snack bar, combed soft sand, moderate surf at one end, flat cove on the other. The sandy bottom is under 4 feet deep for at least 100 yards at high tide and more like 200 yards at low... More

This is our go to beach. On one end where the big climbing rocks are is where the surfer's do their thang. During the summer season there are usually boards to rent and lessons to take. For swimmer's only go to the opposite end of the beach, it is less crowded and often has less seaweed. There is usually a... More

Second beach is a long broad beautiful beach with surfing possible on one end. It is packed in the summer but winter beach walks on an empty beach are very relaxing.

Liked the broad expanse of beach for a good walk. Convenient and plentiful parking. Didn't 'dislike' anything.

We walked along the shore although it was in November not December. It's a great beach to go to in the summer. It does have a fee ( I believe to park & enter) but there was no fee in the colder months we parked & just walked along the beach. It's beautiful & pristine. In the summer this beach... More
