This lighthouse has an interesting little museum and definitely a must see for lighthouse lovers. You can not climb the tower but you do get some lovely views of nearby Newport from the surrounding park. The rocks overlooking the ocean are a nice spot to have a picnic lunch in the summer.

Visiting this site mid January meant that the museum was closed. In spite of that, Beavertail Lighthouse is well worth the visit. The lighthouse and surrounds have numerous plaques explaining the history of the light, fog horns, lifestyle of those who tended the light, tragedies associated with the hurricane of 1938, etc. The vistas are outstanding watching waves crash on... Very peaceful and romantic place. Short trail, perfect for a little walk or snow shoeing. The view is spectacular even in winter. Get your food and drink, it is kind of excluded.

We stopped here near the end of a day touring. It is a nice area on the point. Plenty of parking and very nice views. Definitely worth the stop.

This is one fabulous place to bring a chair and a picnic lunch. You can bring your dog too! We always bring friends visiting from out of town to see the light house. The museum is small but loaded with fun history and a cute gift shop as well.

It's easy to get to, free and pretty. Definitely worth checking out. When I think of RI this place and scenery is what comes to mind. There were quite a few fishermen there and it was fun to watch to see if they caught something.

This is a large park with plenty of spots to stop and fish and a very scenic lighthouse and fog horn at the point. Please don't make the same mistake i did and wander in front of the foghorn - it is very load and you will instantly regret it. You won't regret you trip here though although parking might... More

So pretty to view and walk around on the rocks. We loved the place so much that my daughter had her senior pictures shot here!

This is one of my favorite places to visit. I love to see sunset here. Sunset can be absolutely beautiful. I also love to photography the lighthouse. This is one of my most favorite lighthouses to visit. I have friend who love to bring book and folding chairs and hang out for the day on the grounds
