Jewel of a Beach!!

A must if you're in the area, parking is tough so arrive early. There are some good restaurants and a great coffee shop in town. Love it!!

it's a beach. it's not spectacular. as i am a local, i avoid the beach most of the year and definitely in the summer. tourists are rude and don't clean up after themselves. dogs are allowed on the beach during off season so be wary of the non-pooper scoopers!

The beach was very clean, it was mid spring so the cool air was perfect for our romantic walk along the shore. There was a huge piece of driftwood on the beach that was great for photo ops.

We stopped here briefly driving from Boston to Pittsburgh. The kids played in the water for 15 minutes and we stretched our legs. The beach was beautiful, clean and peaceful. I never considered a beach house in Rhode Island until I was standing there. The town of Charlestown was quiet and calm. We stopped in a few stores and looked... More

The beach was quite busy that day, a Sunday. We arrived at 4:00 so there was no fee. Hot, sunny day and the crowds started to thin, water was warm, clear, family oriented crowd. Very nice beach, clean, easy to access.

Great beach. The views are spectacular. The town beach is kind of small so I often wander off the the more private areas. If you want a spot on the town beach, get there early.

We've been to this beach twice. It is small and overcrowded. Both times it was overrun with seaweed in the water. Waves collapse on the beach because of the steep slope and there is a painful stretch of moving rocks as you head out past the breakers. The restrooms and parking are actually down the road about 400 feet and... More

We traveled all the way from Western Massachusetts because of what we heard about the waves. This beach allows boogie boards and flotation devices. There aren't any cheeses commercial amusement rides or pricey food stands. The 20.00 entry fee for weekend no residents was a true bargain! Unfortunately there were quite a few jelly fish but that didn't stop my... More

Great waves and pretty nice area. They have showers and rest rooms. Usually not crowded. Blah Blah Blah

Not commercialized. No food. A decent facility to change in, but the beach is all you need. Plenty of other choices if you want. But this one is my favorite.
