Very nice, calm beach. Relatively clean and guarded. Length of beach gives ample room for privacy. Sea bottom is very sandy so it's good for small kids. Plenty of cheap parking withing walking distance when the lines get long. Arrive really early on the holidays or weekends and stake out your territory. Plan on leaving around noon when the loud,... a very nice but very busy beach.Lots of places to park but always full when I get there. food selection is good at the restaurant just outside the beach area. If the beach is full do not worry just go down rt 1 and you will find many others.Beach is clean and well run.Your problem will be parking in the... More

A must if you're in the area, parking is tough so arrive early. There are some good restaurants and a great coffee shop in town. Love it!!

it's a beach. it's not spectacular. as i am a local, i avoid the beach most of the year and definitely in the summer. tourists are rude and don't clean up after themselves. dogs are allowed on the beach during off season so be wary of the non-pooper scoopers!

The beach was very clean, it was mid spring so the cool air was perfect for our romantic walk along the shore. There was a huge piece of driftwood on the beach that was great for photo ops.

We stopped here briefly driving from Boston to Pittsburgh. The kids played in the water for 15 minutes and we stretched our legs. The beach was beautiful, clean and peaceful. I never considered a beach house in Rhode Island until I was standing there. The town of Charlestown was quiet and calm. We stopped in a few stores and looked... More

The beach was quite busy that day, a Sunday. We arrived at 4:00 so there was no fee. Hot, sunny day and the crowds started to thin, water was warm, clear, family oriented crowd. Very nice beach, clean, easy to access.

Great beach. The views are spectacular. The town beach is kind of small so I often wander off the the more private areas. If you want a spot on the town beach, get there early.
